Milwaukee DU Meetup Information!!!

Hello everyone,

ClassWarrior and I met this morning to hash out the details of the planned Milwaukee DU meetup we will be co-hosting on June 29th.

The DPW Convention will be in Milwaukee at the downtown Hilton that weekend. http://www.danedems.org/ht/display/EventDetails/i/999229

The DU meetup is set for that Friday, June 29th at 8:00pm at the Fairview Tap, 6712 w. Fairview. The DPW ends at 8pm but the conventioneers will be partying in the hospitality suites and then coming down throughout the night, and I hear a couple of our elected Democrats may come by also. We should be able to use the back room at the Fairview, and he's got a nice pool table in there too, and adequate seating.

Simple directions: one block north of the 68th/70th street exit of I-94, a few minutes west of downtown Milwaukee.

There is a parking lot in the rear of the tavern, off Stevenson Street and a rear door to enter. Else there is parking on the street, but since the neighorhood is on the upswing, with several new business opening this month, parking may be somewhat harder to find out front.

The Fairview has bar-style pizza, or the owner says bring your own food if you want, as long as you buy his alcohol. Also, a brand new and quite delicious cajun restaurant just opened on the block, and they have carry outs. menu can be found here: http://www.maxies.com/milwaukee/index.html

Coincidentally, a very nice used bookstore is right next to the Fairview Tap, so bring your cash for great deals! :D You can browse the inventory on line and email me your requests ahead of time ([email protected]) and I'll pull the books out of my inventory and hold them for you.
