Hi Mo!
Yes, I am working for
Greg Brewer in the 50th ward as the field director. Greg is an architect, planner, and project manager who has gone head-to-head with Berny Stone on several occasions regarding bad development. He is as progressive as they come (I wouldn't work for anyone who wasn't!) and a great person. Alan Cottrell & Owen Brugh (Claypool, Cegelis & DFA) as well as Nalani McClendon (Dan Seals) also work with me. We have a great team!
Mo, you actually have it backwards.
Irv Loundy, Vice-President of Devon Bank and well-known community leader, is the chairman of Greg Brewer's campaign. He definitely has been looking for someone to run against Berny for some time. He met with Naisy Dolar last April and wasn't impressed. He saw how Greg was already acting as an advocate for the community with his group, Citizens for Responsible Development, and fighting against Berny Stone. Greg embodied all of the qualities that he was looking for, so he, along with many other people in the neighborhood, urged Greg to run. Irv is very tight with the business community in the 50th ward and is urging them to support Greg. Those that don't support Greg are stuck on supporting Berny. I have heard nothing about businesses supporting Naisy Dolar, but I would not be surprised if she tells people that.
As far as the "naive" comment goes, I'm not sure what would cause anyone to think that about Greg upon meeting him. Mo, can you expand upon that? He is professional, very well-spoken, understands the type of work that alderman do, and as an architect and planner is uniquely qualified to work with members of the community to develop a longterm ward plan for development. It's interesting that we have heard identical comments about Naisy Dolar from people all over the ward. That she is young, naive, and inexperienced.
My "beef" with Naisy Dolar is that she has been telling lies and saying nasty things about Greg in order to further her agenda. Whether it's that "he's just another developer who's going to gentrify the place" (Greg is not a developer or involved whatsoever in residential real-estate), or "he's backed by big business like Devon Bank" (Devon Bank is a community bank that does amazing things for the community), or "he's just another white male backed by big business and big banks" (with the added little race-card twist), Naisy takes every chance she can get to trash Greg. It really makes me wonder what she has to offer and where she is ethically. This type of thing is completely unnecessary and does, in fact, work against her. It's obvious that Ms. Dolar has an issue with telling the truth and nobody likes a liar.
Given her behavior, I'm not at ALL convinced that Naisy Dolar is an improvement from Berny Stone.
