Post here if you're looking for a roomate for the DC weekend or have space
to host an out-of-towner DUer for the protests.

I'm getting alot of PMs looking for accomadations and I'll help as much as I feasibly can, but I thought I would start a thread where folks can post if they want to share a hotel room with another DUer or have space to accomidate someone else. We can also use this for folks looking to share rides to the protest.

If you see someone on the list you can help out then you can PM them and work out the details!

1. I can host a DUer on my couch
(assuming I am not moving that weekend). Send me a Pm if you need a crash pad.

3. I'm planning on flying into town that weekend and I'm looking for lodging
I might get a hostel, but I'll be up for sharing a hotel room. I am a 36-year-old male, easy-going, and I like to party.

5. I have space in Rockville
for an individual or a couple on a futon in a spare bedroom. The house is within walking distance of Metro and inhabited by my family and a dog. PM me if you'd like to discuss it.

6. AAAHHHHHH !!! NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!

Oh geez, oh crap, oh sh!t! ... I just found out that the bus I was supposed to travel on to DC next weekend has been CANCELLED!! I am in the midst of desperately looking for another means of transportation. But I have the feeling that finding a place to stay is going to be the better part of my worries. (As part of the bus trip, we were going to sleep on a donated church floor on Saturday and Sunday for free. I can afford free!)

The organization I was going with still has a 3 day bus trip open, but that would mean I could be there for only the Saturday protest. I mean I guess that is better than nothing, and I will do that if there is no other choice, but I really had my heart set on being there for the Sunday activities and Monday march as well.

Does anybody - anybody - have a place where I could crash?

Oh - about me:

I am a 40 year old female and will be traveling alone. I don't plan on drinking, do not smoke, don't snore, love pets (no allergies) and am straight (if it matters).

I plan to be at the protest site all three days, and seek only a safe place to sleep at night and a shower in the morning. Well, if I could have a relatively secure place to store my backpack during the days so I don’t have to lug it around at the protest events, that would be great, too. I don't take up much room, and I am willing to sleep on a floor, cot, futon, couch or whatever. I can provide an embarrassingly small contribution for such generosity, and promise to be most respectful of you, your space, your schedule and your possessions.

Please PM me with any response, and thank you for any assistance you may be able to offer.

9. I'm looking for a female DUer to split a hotel room with me
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 12:58 PM by rox63
I'm a 42-year female who's got a non-smoking double room booked for Friday-Monday nights (leaving DC Tuesday morning) at the Washington-Capitol Holiday Inn. So if someone is in town for all 3 days of the mobilization, this might be ideal for them. My travelling companion cancelled on me at the last minute. I'm leaving for the airport at 8:30 AM eastern time Friday morning, and will be offline after that. So if anyone is interested, please PM me no later than 7:00 AM Friday morning, and I'll send you my cell #. The room rate is $145/night, so you'd be responsible for half of that for each night you stay.

10. I unexpectedly have an extra bed
at the Holiday Inn-Washington Capitol. My previous roomie is under a voluntary evacuation and can't make it, so I've got room.
