What's it going to take to win back the governorship and legislature?

I just heard on NPR yesterday that the state is trying to let Delta Airlines go tax free as a thank you present for being in the state for decades at a time when libraries are forced to close once a week and teachers are being laid off or furlowed. They're also talking about raising the amount of tax paid on food yet we have enough money to gove it away to these airlines who don't even need it. This is just plain wrong. They want to shift all the burden on to the middle class and have the rich pay nothing.

1. Nathan Deal is such a crook, and all the Publicans are buying his BS

The very first thing he did as governor was proclaim that he wanted to give big business and industry a roughly $300 million gift, er ah rather a much needed tax cut; while at the same time announce that since the budget was so tight that it was unfortunately necessary to cut roughly $300 million from education.

Now I keep reading about moving toward the "fair" tax. These poor fools falling for that don't realize it's just another way for the rich to shift more of the tax burden to the poor and middle class. Paying tax on individual to individual cars sales - more taxes on the middle class (how many millionaires would stoop to buying a used car on craigslist?). Paying taxes on more grocery items - the poor and middle class will be paying a higher percentage of their income. And on and on. Just more gifts to the rich.

To pay for necessary infrastructure many local government have had to resort to special local option sales taxes. That's one more way the lower and middle income people end up paying a higher percentage of their wages in taxes than the rich.

Georgia is 49th in per-capita state tax revenue. That makes individual counties heavily dependant on finding ways of raising revenues to pay for such things as schools. This makes it extremely difficult for poorer counties to maintain an adequate educational system.

I hadn't heard about the Delta Airlines deal, but it's not a bit surprising.

I really thought we had a chance to win back the governorship with all of Nathan Deals baggage, but apparently Georgia is so red that most people don't care that they elected a crook to run the state.

2. Agree
I especially agree with this comment:

"I really thought we had a chance to win back the governorship with all of Nathan Deals baggage, but apparently Georgia is so red that most people don't care that they elected a crook to run the state."

Truly, it seems to me that many in this state unknowingly vote against their own interests and now you have this republican junta in control of the state, with some "favorites" of mine being Casey Cagle and "Chip" Rogers

3. Fight like you've never fought before!!!
Every time I see anything online about the politics down there I feel nothing but frustration. Now I wonder if I should move down there with all the shit y'all have to put up with. Do a Wisconsin on the politicians and they'll get the message!

Nathan Deal is such a transparent crook that he should be in jail instead of running for office. It looks like anyone with an (R) on the ballot will get the votes from a voting populace that is so insanely ignorant and uncaring.

To add, recent defections of former Democrats to repubs aren't helpful, either.
