"church" performance at high school in Athens, GA
There was a performance at Cedar Shoals High School from the "Steel City Impact" drama troop. Take a look at their website: http://steelcitymc.com /.

From their website: " Our mission at Steel City
Master’s Commission is to equip students with
knowledge of God’s Word, personal discipline,
confidence in themselves, and excellence so they can
live out their God-given destiny. These individuals
will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy for Christ
upon their generation."

The troop performed for the school on Friday, November
12, 2004.

This is the same high school where the principal read the "New School Prayer"

3. no link yet.... just a copy
of the email the principal sent.... and a teacher's reaction to the program...he said it was like a revival.

I hope that this will be in the news soon, too... at least localy.

4. There's nothing wrong with this
The studpid "poem" was one thing, this is simply a drama group performing outside of the classroom. I imagine the students don't have to attend, and most of them won't be paying attention anyway. Yes, it's stupid, but simply allowing them to perform at the school is not against the law.

5. Agreed, tentatively.
If the performance was scheduled outside of class time, and if students were not compelled to attend, it smells less fishy. I wonder what the school board will say, though, when other religious groups (Rastafarians, Mormons, Muslims, or Jews) want to use school grounds for public performances of their own dramas. Will they be allowed? If so, then everything's on the up and up.

6. this was during school hours...
I believe that the teachers had a choice on their classes going or not.... but this was a school assembly during the school day.
