Delaware voters...PLEASE vote Biden out!
The next time he is up for another term, I hope the people of your state will do yourself and everybody else a favor and vote Joe Biden out in the Democratic primaries. This man has been an embarassment to the Democratic Party. This is the man who voted in favor of the invasion of Iraq. This is the man who likes Roberto Gonzales, that torturer who is now the Attorney General. And now, he cast his lot with the Democrats to screw the poor people for not being able to pay their credit card debts.

It's time for Joe and other Democrats that vote and act like him to go and bring in some real fighting Democrats.

1. So is there a successor you have in mind?
Or would you prefer a solid Democratic seat be thrown into contention when we're already just five losses away--which is not inconcievable, since in '06 we have more contested seats up than they do--from a Republican filibuster-proof 60-40 majority?

And your 'reasoning' is crap. Quite a few Democrats were for the IWR. Nearly all of them voted for Gonzales.

You're ahead of yourself. Instead of trying to get people in office who will uselessly complain more 'purely', why don't you work to defeat weak Republican Senators so, rather than just cast protest votes, we can regain our majority and actually get something accomplished.

3. Biden has been a let down. Plain and simple!
I think the Delawarians (Is that what you call people from Delaware?)should put Biden's feet to the fire. Quit caving in to the Neocons. There is no excuse for him to "buddy" up with snakes like Gonzales and screw people who have a hard time paying their credit card debts, like myself!

What is the point in having an opposition party if some of the lawmakers of that party side with the Republicans on issues? It makes a mockery out of our supposed democracy. Weak Republicans? What weak Republicans??? They are looking pretty strong these days!

The reason the Democrats are five loses away are because they need to solidify their principles and quit compromising and caving into the Neocons. It shows weakness and voters get turned off. Look what happened to Daschle when he tried to get reelected in the House. The time has come for change in the Democratic Party. You know it and I know it. Unless of course you agree with the Bush's agenda and think going to Iraq and giving debtors the screw was a great idea!

Wake up and smell the coffee! Biden and those who act and think like him should do the same!

John

2. Biden and Carper both get my vote just to keep Dems in...
I'm all for another Dem governor too, when it's time (Carney?). Since I'm a new Dem, I've never voted in a dem primary. I have no idea who would be running against Biden, but I refuse to feed our state to the Repubs. We need the bottom line head count for Dems in both the House and the Senate in 2006. Carper's a sell out too in my book, but I'll still vote for him in 2006. I'd sooner vote Mike Castle OUT of the House since he's a repub. He's been good, but he's the wrong party.

5. If you're like me, you probably own't even bother with Carper...
..and instead hightail it to Pennsylvania where we need all the help we can get to get Santorum out of office.

Doesn't that seem like a better way to utitlize our time and money?

4. What state are you from?
Seriously - worry about your own senators. I have better things to waste my time on than to free up a seat for republicans. Biden doesn't even come up for re-election until 2008 and believe me, I'd rather utilize my time trying to get a demcoratic president elected.

As for Carper - sure, I'll use the time & money to try and get a repuke to replace Carper and hell - who cares that Santorum is up for re-election in 2006.

Do me a favor - go to your own state forum and worry about your own elected official. You'd be hardpress to find any Delawareans interested in wasting their time voting against Biden or Carper.

8. Good To Know
That the people of Delaware will worry more about defeating Repubs than our OWN candidates.

Thank you!

7. Biden is a senior senator from a small state.
Why would we try to oust him? It isn't in the best interests of Delawarean's to do so. Plus, he is still a democrat. Why take the chance that he would be replaced by a Republican?

9. You need a REAL Democrat!
Not one who is going to cave-in to the Republicans like Biden does!

10. Then why don't you move to Delaware and do it yourself
other than that - worry about your own state.

Personally, Biden pisses me off but I would still vote for him again in 2008.

Seriously - it's obvious that folks from Delaware don't give a shit what you want us to do. Maybe it's because there are more important races in the area we'd like to be a part of than wasting our time on our own 2 democratic senators.

Get a life and please bug the folks in your own state forum

11. Geez. Didn't get rude responses from people in Connecticut.

When I posted calling for them to dump Lieberman. :eyes:

No. You all are right. I guess it is great to have a Senator that rolls over whenever the neocons bark. I suppose you guys like Alberto Gonzales. He's the real deal you know! I also tend to think that giving debtors the shaft was a great idea too!

Oddly enough - we like Joe here.

Seriously. I loved the letter in the News Journal a while back that accused Joe of being an egotistical loudmouth. My reaction was along the lines of "Yeah, that's Joe. Did you have something else to say?"

There's a great picture here of Joe taking his ego out for a spin:

But once you get used to the warts, he's fun to watch and, on balance, is infinitely better than any alternative that's ever been offered.

One of my favorite Biden stories comes from having taken his ConLaw seminar at Widener Law School. As he was giving us the requirements for the writing assignment, he warned us that plagiarism would be dealt with harshly. It took every muscle in my face to keep from saying, "Yeah... this sure ain't Syracuse."

13. And you think taking the chance of running a newbie against
a Republican in the next election is the answer? We can't afford to be that short sighted. He is a senior senator and highly electable. Who else can you say that about?
