Former governor has new career as talk show host

By Andrew Larson, Rep-Am

WATERBURY — Former Gov. John G. Rowland, the city's economic development coordinator, has negotiated a one-year contract to host a radio show on WTIC-AM (1080).

He plans to make the announcement at 7:20 a.m. today on the Ray Dunaway Morning Show.

Rowland will co-host the "evening drive" slot from 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays. His co-host will be the Rev. Will Marotti, senior pastor of the New Life Church in Meriden. Their first show will be Thursday.

Rowland's radio show will be called "Church and State." He said it will be a call-in talk show, with guests including a range of political candidates. There will be analysis of political and religious issues, with a moderately conservative bent.

3. What an insult that Rowland has Colin McEnroe's old slot
McEnroe - the left-of-center afternoon host who was unceremoniously dumped almost two years ago, despite being WTIC AM's highest rated show...

5. It was the only reason I'd turn on that station
Hell, even their weather and traffic is useless. In fact, I think they've just got the same reports lined up and pop in one from the circulation of about 3.

4. Good grief
As if that station had any tiny bit of respectability. Replace Colin with Johnny Felon and his traveling jail house conversion show?

I wonder just who will make up this range of candidates? Probably have Joementum on to represent the Dems...
