Rell said she would Veto same sex marriage
So much for this open minded Repuke. She showed her true colors. Thankfully with a super majority, our Democrats now have enough votes to over ride her Veto assuming Williams and Amann do their jobs correctly which I have faith they will. I hear it would be close but there maybe a few Repukes who may swing to our side which is good in case any Democrats lose their spine.

1. the House is more conservative than the Senate
Though, both houses have super-majority of Democrats.. .there are a lot of those moderate Democrats, especially in Eastern CT. We'll just have to write, email and call those Democrats.

I think Rell has been consistent with her position - civil unions ok, marriage not - for the past 2 years.

2. Yes, she has
and I agree with you -- even with supermajorities, an override is no sure thing.

My rep is a Dem (supposedly) but he not only voted against CUs, he voted for the DOMA that was attached. Ugh. Also voted for the DP. (Can you tell I don't like the guy?)

I think there are a good number of "Reagan Democrats" still to be found, especially in the less wealthy parts of the state -- Eastern CT, Waterbury on down the Naugatuck Valley... those kind of places.

3. Dem's must be Dem's
We've kept our deal. We've been loyal and true to our party. Now we have a super-majority (which is what we helped to work for) they must keep their commitments and act like Democrats not Re-pukes. I expect every single Democrat to honor equality for everyone. Is that too much to ask?

Ya Girl, I remember your frustrations with your state rep. I have a really good progressive State Rep but I had a State Senator who I didn't very much but has since retired(Thank God). I'm hoping my new guy will be better. JeffCT is right. We need to make some calls when it is time to make sure Democrats act like Democrats. Your guy "Corky" is one of the first on my list!!!! I'm going to him if Joe Lieberman can vote Republican so can I. Did I just say that? LOL

6. Yeah, I really can't stand him.
Didn't vote at all in that race this last time as a matter of fact. Just couldn't check off his name.

He'll continue to hear from me, though, never fear!
