Voters say no to Lakewood land-swap deal
"LAKEWOOD - Voters rejected the swap of city-owned park land for privately owned open space Wednesday, overturning two City Council approvals of the deal.

The vote was 14,216 against, to 10,594 in favor, of trading 22 acres in Iron Spring Park for a 22-acre open- space corridor owned by a developer, Carma, that connected several parks."

1. gotta love all the repukes who infest city and county governments
throughout Jeffco

they'd sell their mothers (and definitely YOUR mother) if a developer promised them lunch.

they have made more incomprehensibly stupid deals with developers and bogus zoning deals than anyplace other than Houston.

Nice to see the people call them on it for once.

2. I was happy to see this.
Glad the people in Lakewood could see through the BS.

3. I hand delivered our ballots on voting day - January 2nd
Scheduling the vote right in the busiest time of the holiday season was so calculated. Seems like they did all they could to keep the number of votes down. And they still lost. Nyah-nyah! :P
