Denver September 24 protest.
If you can't make it to DC, attend the rally in Denver.

http://www.3novembermovement.org/924.html

Rally for Peace and Justice
September 24, 12:30 p.m.
Colorado State Capitol, West Steps

From the web site:

The 3 November Movement is holding a regional rally and march as part of a nationwide protest to coincide with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund fall meetings, September 24-25 in Washington, D.C..

Speakers include Nita Gonzalez of Escuela Tlatelolco, Blake Lemoine representing Not In Our Name, and Scott Silber of Service Employees International Union.

David Rovics will be attending and providing musical interludes throughout the rally!

2. My Husband & I will be there.

I've not attended a large demonstration before ~ I've been looking forward to this one.

Can you tell me the best area to park??

Thanks!

6. I usually park on either Grant or Sherman,
about three or four blocks south of the Capitol building. That's where the meters start to disappear, so it's free, free, free! I wish I could remember the cross street... 10th? 11th? Somewhere in there. If you know that part of Denver, it's by the apartments they call Poets Row (because all the buildings are named after poets and writers).

Good luck! And thanks for holding the fort in Denver while I'm in DC! :hi:

with my cousin, his wife and my nephew. We need numbers bigger then a hurricane.

7. Yeah, rawtribe!
Yes, we DO need bigger numbers with to make our voices heard over Rita's winds. If I'd have known Bush was going to be Colorado this weekend, I'd have saved my plane fare and seen you on the state capitol steps!

:grouphug: for you, your wife & nephew for going. I'm guessing frm your screen name that perhaps I'll see you in a few weeks at the Columbus Day event. :)

8. Going to try to be there. Let's have a DU meetup!

I was supposed to go to DC but had to cancel. Other parental obligations threaten to override my plan to be on the capital steps.

However, with the shrub in Colo Spgs, we need to be out in full force.

If I make it, I will also bring a little sign that says DemocraticUnderground so you'll know me.

9. I was there! I'd say 1500 people

I'm pretty short and couldn't really see the whole crowd.

13. Nice! Did you paint it first and then cut it out or vice-versa?
You look like a very nice, clean, reasonable, thoughful person (instead of a dirty, pinko, old hippie, as we're SUPPOSED to look like...)

I AM an old hippie that also happens to be "Granny" to five beautiful little souls (they are the reason I am so passionate about this stuff),,,,,

re the peace sign,,,, I cut it out first then drew the lines and colored in the spaces =)
