Downing Street Memo Rally outside Denver Post Thursday, 6/16

****ACTION ALERT****CIRCULATE AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE****

In conjunction with CODEPINK’s action in Washington, a CODE RED rally and march in Denver. Call an end to the media silence about the Downing Street scandal!

With the surfacing of the "Downing Street Minutes," our leaders have been caught red-handed deceiving the American people, and leading us into an illegal, immoral war. The Iraqi desert continues to run red with the blood of Americans and Iraqis alike, and we the people are seeing red.

We urge you to drop what you are doing at 5 PM this Thursday, 6/16, for a FLASH ACTION - as spontaneous as many protests worldwide by outraged citizens - and join us at the Denver Post building on the Broadway side. Bring placards, signs, related flyers, or just your voice, and wear something red!

The purpose is to draw attention, make passerby on the street ask "What is this Downing Street thing all about?" and demand coverage of the memo in the media. We encourage you to march with us down Broadway and visit Channel 4, Channel 7, and Fox (anyone who wants to continue on with a delegation to Channel 9 on Speer may do so). Letters will be delivered to each outlet, asking that they practice true journalism and cover this story.

- Harass the local news media! Ask them why you haven’t heard about the memo in the news and whether they plan to mention the hearing or the CodePink protest on Thursday. Write letters to the editor of the Post, News, and Westword.
