Poll: Salazar leaving Miles in campaign-trail dust
By Mark P. Couch
Denver Post Staff Writer

Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar has a runaway lead in the Democratic primary race against rival Mike Miles, according to a Denver Post poll.

Salazar won support from 67 percent of the 400 likely Democratic voters polled Aug. 2-4. Miles had 21 percent. Twelve percent were undecided. The poll had a margin of error of 5 percentage points.

"It's pretty clear that Salazar is in control of that race," said Brad Coker, managing director of Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc., which conducted the poll. "He's the horse that Democrats want to ride."

Miles often compares himself to Seabiscuit, the horse that overcame long odds to win the big race and gained new fame in a recent movie.

2. Hopefully not
He has been running for over two years now and garnering a measley 21% in the latest poll. And that's among Democrats. I doubt that he is more popular among independants and Republicans. Whatever he is selling, few are interested in buying.

3. Perhaps With His Education & Diplomacy Experience...
...he may be considered for a Cabinet position in the Kerry Administration - if not as a Secretary, then as an Under-Secretary.
