Save California free elections! Urgent--say no to Choice Point
Please circulate this action alert on ChoicePoint.

SHOULD CALIFORNIA BE AWARDING CONTRACTS TO CHOICEPOINT?

SAY NO TO CHOICEPOINT!

The California Department of General Services is prepared to award a contract
to ChoicePoint to develop a statewide criminal database. ChoicePoint is
currently under state and federal investigation for security breaches involving
stolen information on 145,000 American consumers. According to the Sacramento
Bee ("State Looks to ChoicePoint"/4/22/05), ChoicePoint executives sold
millions of dollars' worth of company stock before revealing the breach.

In addition, investigative journalist Greg Palast argues ChoicePoint helped
fix the 2000 Florida Presidential election by incorrectly listing over 50,000
African Americans and Hispanics as felons barred from voting. PDLA's concern
is that under new federal regulations California's Secretary of State, required
to create a centralized voter database, may rely on the ChoicePoint's
software to purge the voter rolls.

Tell Sacramento you don't want California to do business with ChoicePoint.
This page will send your personal message to the California Attorney General,

3. As a CAL-EE-FORN-EE-AN...
We have another issue coming up which just might be a big improvement. Right now the Dems and Reps have the whole system so gerrymandered that they are simply locked into their districts and we have no way to vote any of them out.

I know that the new redistricting plan is being sponsored by AHHH-NOLD, but it seems like a really good idea to me to let judges draw the boundries instead of the old party hacks.

Good article on the subject:
