Congress about to vote on DADT; call CA Congressmember Jim Costa NOW
U.S. Congressmember Jim Costa (D-CA) represents the Central Valley and today could be the deciding vote for a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal. Please call him right away, and tell him Californians support ending the discriminatory ban on out service members: 202-225-3341.

In fact, the State of California just this morning went on record in opposition to DADT as the State Senate joined the Assembly to endorse SJR 9, the Equality California-sponsored resolution authored by Senator Christine Kehoe calling for immediate repeal. The 24-7 bipartisan vote included the support of Republican Senator Roy Ashburn who, like Costa, represents the key Central Valley region.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi predicted that DADT would be “a memory by Christmas” at an Equality California event in San Francisco last Friday on the eve of the first Harvey Milk Day. We need to hold her, the president and the rest of Congress to their promises and pass a repeal of DADT today.

So call Congressmember Costa right away at 202-225-3341, and then leave a comment to tell us how it went.
