Lawsuit alleges PG&E boss admits Prop. 16 is meant to thwart competition
.... "A coalition of locally owned public utilities, including the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, are claiming that Pacific Gas & Electric Corp. Chairman Peter A. Darbee essentially admitted at a March 1 investor conference that Proposition 16 is designed to choke off competition."....

PG&E is as preditory as the banksters. Prop 16 is the PG&E profit protection plan.

1. Proposition 16 – This is nothing less than an attempt by Pacific Gas and Electric to lock its monopoly status into the state constitution. Public power agencies would face an incredibly high bar – a two-thirds vote – to expand service and offer cheaper rates to businesses and other customers in PG&E territory. If this initiative passes, it will affirm that would-be monopolies can use their wealth to effectively buy an election. Other corporations are watching and will be close behind them.
