Boxer closes in for the knockout GOP rival 1st major candidate in decades to not buy a TV ad

A confident Sen. Barbara Boxer made her final swing through California over the weekend, talking to crowds of Democrats and running so far out front in the polls that she barely had a word to say about Bill Jones, her Republican challenger.

"I almost forgot to mention my opponent,'' Boxer said to loud laughter from the crowd at a San Jose union hall Sunday morning. "I'm not going to mention him by name. Why should I remind anybody?''

here in LA. I think she has 3 different ones but I have not seen a single Jones one, guess he doesn't have the money for them. :-)

It was a very strong pro-Choice ad.

I think Bill Jones had zero chance from the beginning, and no one was going to waste money on him.

I wonder what the story is with him. He didn't even try, and he reneged on his promise to spend $2 million of his own money on the campaign.

It's like he just got distracted or something and forgot he was supposed to be challenging Boxer for her Senate seat.

I'm curious what happened, but not too curious. I mean, if HE doesn't even care, why should anybody else? I'm not motivated enough to do any research.

My local paper said Jones had a very poor campaign. As in not much money (quite a shock for a R).
Also, said he ran a poor campaign.
So, this looks like an easy win for Boxer.
