Tomorrow's San Diego "Walk for Peace" counter protest- Protest Warriors
CODEPINK ALERT!

On Sunday, August 8th, CodePink San Diego will again be at the corner of Sixth and Laurel (in San Diego) at NOON for our twice a month "walk for peace" through beautiful Balboa Park. The difference between this Sunday and previous ones, is we are expecting a large number of counter protesters.

A group calling themselves "Protest Warriors" have been distributing flyers about "silly prancing women in pink prattling about politics", taking endless pictures (which they have posted on their website) and refusing to not mix in with our group.

We have invited other activists groups to stand with us in solidarity, and would like to extend that invitation to you.

In addition to our "walk for peace", CodePink San Diego will have a booth (#819) at Cityfest that same day, from 10AM til 7PM, and will be tabling at the Ozomatli show (4th and B) that evening. Please consider driving down for the day, to stand with us in solidarity. For additional info, please contact: [email protected].

peace,

Candace

2. More on Protest Warriors

>>The Protest Warriors are a group of people who infiltrate, crash and attempt to disrupt legal, peaceable assemblies. They say they base their actions on the first amendment of the US Constitution. Here's what the First Amendment says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I am here to challenge the Protest Warriors and show them that their whole organization is based on illegal, immoral and unconstitutional behavior. With this article, I will prove that:

1.) The Contitution says that people may peaceably assemble to petition the government. The Protest Warriors are not petitioning the government when they do what they do. They are petitioning Americans who are legally excercising their constitutional right to peaceably assemble. This alone is unconstitutional behavior and reason enough for the Protest Warriors to cease these actions. By disrupting the rights of American people to a PEACEABLE assembly, by antagonization and other NON-PEACEFUL acts, the Protest Warriors are actually stomping all over the constitutional rights that they claim they wish to uphold.

2.) The protesters that the Protest Warriors antagonize have obtained a legal permit to peaceably assemble. The Protest Warriors have not. The permit is for an Anti-War rally and clearly the Protset Warriors are not there for that purpose. The Protest Warriors have as much right to assemble on the anti-war permit as a monster truck show has to do the same...None! It is illegal for them to assemble without a permit, but they feel they are above that law because of the way they interpret the constitution. If they tried to obtain a permit to protest the peaceable assemblers, they would have been denied because no city wants instigators infiltrating huge crowds in the city street. Protest Warriors are intentially trying to instigate people in large crowds. They are trying to cause chaos and violence to erupt.

3.) The Protest Warriors knowingly engage in illegal activity including the illegal sale of copyrighted material for their own commercial gain.

4.) The Protest Warriors are not tolerant of any human who does not think like they do. They speak absolutely horrible, offensive things about gay people, Muslims, people of non-white ethnic backgrounds, "the left", "liberals" and anyone else who does not mirror their interpretation of what an American should be.

5.) The Protest Warriors advocate gun violence against these Americans and non-Americans who do not think the same way as themselves. They try to teach gun violence to young people.

6. ) The Protest Warriors are PRO-Censorship and PRO- invasion of privacy. While they preach against it, they edit and censor the posts in their very own forums.

4. At the Last SF Demo, A Few of Them Showed Up
Holding up their barely-relevent signs while standing on top of their van that was illegally
parked on Market Street. We kinda had to squeeze over to get around it ,
but they didn't cause any trouble (of course they were outnumbered about
5000 to 1).

I wanted to thank them for my avatar, which is a picture they took of
me and put on their website:

They also posted a cropped version, which is the one I used.
