This is a great article that really helps you understand in more detail what she has had to deal with on the City Council and the Pension Board Mess and what her approach would be to solve it and take over as mayor. I think this is a good read to show to people that complain she's just "a surfer girl hippie" or something like that and doesn't know what she's talking about. I think it's rare to find a politician these days who:
a) has the passion to do what's right for the people around her and work hard doing so. I don't believe she's on any kind of power trip, but truely is trying to work on what she feels is best for San Diego and San Diegans living here.
b) is trying to be honest and "serve" the people and yet do what's right legally as well so as to be prepared to make tough choices to deal with economic reality as well.
c) Not be beholden to special interests who try to gain favor through campaign donations, and other "side deals".
d) has the smarts to know how to manage effectively and delegate properly things that should be but not let someone hide things they shouldn't who's working for her. That is evident from this interview.
d) a nice person to talk to as well. I can say that on the few occasions I've met and spoke to her.
