Homelessness Concerns Arkansas Boy
Nine-year-old Taylor Henschell of Fayetteville, Arkansas was troubled about homeless people and the fact that some of them have to sleep in cardboard boxes. Hours after he had seen a television show about the subject, he told his mother that he wanted to do something to help. With his mother Donna's support and some brainstorming, they came up with an idea to raise some money.

According to Woman's World magazine, Taylor sought pledges from friends, family and local businesses for each hour of his stay inside a cardboard box on his front lawn. As the day turned to night, Taylor decided to sleep in the box overnight. When rain came his mother sought refuge inside but her brave son weathered the rain and managed to stay put for 24 hours raising $600 in donations.

Taylor's successful venture was also an inspiration to a cousin in California who got thirty of her friends to join her overnight in a cardboard box and their group raised $6,000. Young Taylor is proud of his efforts and says, "I just like to help people."
