QUESTION: When did Palin start using her 'Fargo folksiness' accent?
What do the tapes of her previous race in politics reveal?
Was she doing winky ya' betcha's to fellow Alaskans?

She is using a northern tier accent appropriate to rural villagers
in the Red River Valley in Minn. and No. Dak., except dolled up with lots
of silly expressions they wouldn't be caught dead saying, and lacking the "ya" interjections.

1. I did find a Palin quote from a 2004 newspaper article
yesterday wherein she said "doggone it," but I really think she's gone over the edge with this stuff lately.

2. I'd never noticed it before McCain picked her.
And she's from Idaho, where people don't even HAVE that accent, so to me it's as bogus as Nixon and Reagan pretending to be "Jus' folks" by droppin' their g's or saying "guvmint".

3. Can anyone anywhere find anyone else with her speech mannerisms?

The accent, while overdone by Palin, does exist in North Dakota and upper Minnesota,
but only in a few people who don't watch t-v or leave the region, and in one film!

On edit: I posted a reward thread in GD-P:

4. L., I've posted video on your original thread
above of Linda Menard from Wasilla. To me, she sounds just like Sarah.
