Redding Pitt
I just wondered if anyone could speculate on who will be taking Redding Putt's place this fall. I have heard a few names thrown around. Including the following:

Giles Perkins, a Birmingham attorney who served as the state party's executive director from 1997-1999, confirmed Wednesday that he would be interested in the chairmanship.

James Anderson, a Montgomery attorney and Democratic nominee for the Alabama Supreme Court in 2002, said he would serve if asked, but he wouldn't campaign for the post.

Alexander City attorney Tom Radney said Thursday he's interested in being Alabama's next Democratic Party chairman.

These are all the names I have seen and think I have a legitimate chance. Joe Turnham would also be a strong candidate for the job, but I haven't seen anything with him indicating that he wanted the job.

1. Anderson
If I had a say, that's who I'd pick.

2. Giles would be excellent
He has a great political head on his shoulders, is smart as a whip, and friendly to boot.

He did a wonderful job as ED during a difficult time for Dems in the state.

I don't think Joe Turnham is interested. He has bigger plans I'm sure.
