Lieberman transcript, FOX News
"...what Paul O'Neill says there is what a lot of other people are beginning to conclude, that there was an overstatement by the Bush administration of the weapons-of-mass- destruction part of the argument for going to war against Saddam Hussein.

But let me be really clear. I decided long before George Bush became president, more than a decade ago, that Saddam Hussein was a terrible tyrant, a brutal dictator, killed hundreds of thousands of his people, did have weapons of mass destruction because we know he used them against the Iranians and the Kurds, and wanted to control the entire Arab world which would have been dangerous, terrible for them and the rest of the world. He also supported terrorism. He was an enemy of the United States...."

1. WTF?

O'Neill has showed that Bush lied to us, but I really think he was right to invade Iraq, only I thought of it first.

Lieberman is a major league prick.

3. This is the "Aggregate Threat" defense

It's Edwards' explaination too. That they weren't "fooled" by the shakey intel, but that Saddam was a bad guy, he once had WMDs, he may have wanted them again, he slaoughtered his own people.

What these Bush apoplogists don't get is:

a) These are not the reasons the American people where givin as the reasons for war. If we had heard the reasons described the way Leiberman and Edwards do, would we have been so eager to invade?

b) If these were the "real" justifications for attacks, how come none of these jokers stood before their constituents and said, "I think the WMD stuff is exagerated, but there are other reasons I think we should go to war.

It's a duplicitous load of crap no matter how you slice it.

5. Lieberman has no choice but to keep spinning this...
...since he so gleefully carried water for the neo-cons regarding the IWR. He has no other fall-back position. Personally, I'm enjoying watching Joe twist in the wind with his repig masters.
