How many viewers did yest. Bush speech have? And considering it was just
more of the same in a week overshadowed by all sorts of neg. Bush news, what kind of pos. impact could it possibly have had?

1. You can bet the Kerry team watched it closely
because it was most likely a rehearsal for what Kerry will face on Friday night.

Other than that, it was same shit, same asshole, different day.

2. On ABC news, they kept mentioning it over and over,
(in news, news breaks, etc.), showing * saying that Kerry is a tax-and-spend liberal, and that he came down on "all sides of the issue" on Iraq, so it's no wonder * made a face.

ANC also said repeatedly that in this speech, * was testing out some new lines on crowds to see how they played, so he could use them on Fridays.

3. Wha? Of course the lines play well in front of handpicked crowds!
A fart would get loudly cheered. That's Bush's problem--he doesn't know how stupid and unappealing he sounds to normal people.

And reminding people of his silly faces and grimaces, he can do that all day long. YOu would think he would let it die. What a dope!

4. ABC is driving me crazy...
Their "Fact Check" segment gets me mad every night.

Their footage of the Bush rally, reminded of a revival. All the faithful in the stands chanting along.

Is there any non-braindead person in America that is going to think, "Well, I was going to vote for Kerry, but maybe he is tax-and-spend liberal."

My guess is that Bush is firing up his base so that at least a couple of people vote for him.

5. Unfortunately, I think there is.
That is, in response to your question, "Is there any non-braindead person in America that is going to think, 'Well, I was going to vote for Kerry, but maybe he is tax-and-spend liberal.'"

People eat up these sound bites; it helps them (undecideds, in this case) to put someone into a category they can understand. Especially someone as "complicated" as Kerry, who doesn't have a wind-up toy response to everything.

I have faith that K/E will respond to this charge. As I said in another thread, * is a spend-and-spend - or, as someone pointed out to me, a borrow-and-spend - "conservative."
