Here's the beauty part...
Bush will WILDLY overcompensate for his dismal performance in the first debate. There is no nuance with the guy, remember.

Too rigid in #1? He'll be gesticulatin' and scattin' all over the place. Bet THAT will look real controlled and presidential.

Answers too short in #1? He'll try to 'clarify' and 'expand' his remarks by ad libbing longer (and therefore better, right?) responses.

Caught making faces in #1? He'll stand there like a broken automaton with a blank, stupid look on his face until activated by a direct question.

AND...He'll be taking alledgedly unscripted questions. I predict no one will get up and say "I don't have a question, Mr President, I just want you to know we're all praying for you."

I'm making TWO bags of popcorn. :D

2. They will have him on some meds
of some kind. Expect a "subdued, serious" Bush Friday night.

10. I think he's going to be just like in his "speech" today...
on the offensive. He doesn't believe in anything else.

11. Was there a thread on the 'speech'?
Was it indeed 'significant'? :eyes:

4. "As I said in the first debate......"
Look for the confused faces in the crowd.

5. I do hope you're right about the expanded answers on Friday.
The more he talks, the more screwups he makes. Put a few more words in one sentenence, and no one will be sure what in the world he meant.

Maybe we can even look forward to some of that grinnin and gigglin too!

6. You're right: dumb leaders always fight the LAST war
Its hard work to not say "hard work" and hide your true feelings, so Bush is going to be preoccupied doing that. Bad generals fight the previous war, meaning they concentrate on mistakes they made in the last war rather than realize there is an entirely new situation. And Bush is a crap commander in chief.

7. You nailed it
I've been thinking similarly, but have been trying to avoid jinxing it. My guess is that they'll pump idiot boy up with some sort of 'upper' this time so he doesn't come across as bored and angry, he'll be wired! Friday's post debate spin will be almost as hilarious as his debate performance.

8. I think you've hit the nail on the head here, Richardo.
His over-compensation on Friday night for last Thursday's meltdown should be HILAROUS to watch.

9. As we saw in his "speech" today, Bush will be very aggressive...
He will be on the offense....and Kerry will shoot him down like a professional skeet shooter. No doubt this is the tactic that Bush has planned - it's all he knows. But it's a mistake. He's falling right into a trap.
