This was not an Oxford Union debate, but a television debate. It was like Kennedy and Nixon. We have both polling and anecdotal evidence that viewers favored Edwards. Cheney was dour, scary, white as a sheet, and out of touch. He brought up El Salvador, for heaven sake, and when asked about a divided country, thought he was being asked about the halls of Congress. Edwards connected with real people and their real lives, and he looks GOOD on the screen -- just as he does on these front pages.

2. Hmmm, WaPo changed their picture

originally it was a handshake that was not flattering to Cheney. That's okay, I like seeing Edwards making his point using the Clinton fist.

And you are so right about this being a TV win. Noone could look at the two on screen without seeing a fear monger in one and hope in the other.
