11. he is really blunt about Bush in person...
I've seen both him and his wife speak on separate occassions and neither one of them mince words about who George Bush is. She is brilliant and he is extremely charismatic, also very, very smart.

I like him a lot. Wish he had a better shot at the Pres but I may just throw my vote his way for the VA primary. He is very cool. Still torn between him and Clark.

28. hey, Arlington has a great Dem Committee...
maybe you are already a member, but they seem to really have their act together. Arlingon being a tad more liberal than Fairfax, not surprising. But we are making inroads. Wester Fairfax can be a bitch for us Dems though.

I know some folks who are die-hard Edwards people and I've been to their home twice to see the Edwards. I was really grateful for the experience since we don't get too many Prez candidates campaigning.

With a primary coming up though I'd like to one or two more out here.

He tends to run a little behind schedule because he always stops and talks to people and answers their questions. That holds him up everywhere he goes.

If Kerry had followed Dean's lead what would have happened to those men?

If Kerry had followed Dean's lead and supported Reagan and Bush's illegal wars in Central America instead of investigating them the world would never have known about BCCI, IranContra and CIA drugrunning which led to the exposure of what we now know as the BFEE.

If Kerry had followed Dean's lead and kissed energy corporation ass for 11 years, he wouldn't have crafted the Kyoto Protocol with other world leaders.

Crack some history books open and learn to appreciate the serious efforts of other valuable citizens.

Process isn't everything.

32. I know Kerry today is giving Dean's speech from 8 months ago...

back when Kerry was attacking Dean for wanting Un support in Iraq.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/02/25/opinion/lynch/main541905.shtml

"Kerry's campaign manager, Jim Jordan, snapped at Dean's insistence on getting U.N. backing (a position supported by three-quarters of Democrats and 53 percent of Independents). "Gov. Dean, in effect, seems to be giving the U.N. veto power over national security decisions of the United States. That's an extraordinary proposition, one never endorsed by any U.S. president or serious candidate for the presidency," he told the Associated Press' Ron Fournier."

41. So compare Kerry and Edwards
I'll preface this by saying I'm an Edwards supporter.

Kerry seemed to have more supporters than Edwards there by far (the Kerry, Kerry! chants) and he seemed to get more standing ovations than Edwards. Kerry seemed to speak a lot faster, and I don't if his speech really seemed to stick with me as well. Definitely more platitudes with Kerry. Edwards seemed to focus once again on his issues and I think he tried to make sure everybody understood exactly where he stood on the issues.

I think Edwards speaking style was more passionate, although Kerry was very good today. Edwards was more focused on bringing the people into the speech (lots of 'you and I' type things). Kerry focused on his war record and Iraq while Edwards focused on domestic issues. Kerry also spoke about domestic issues, but nowhere near in the great detail that Edwards did.

Kucinich is on now, and I fully expect it to be almost completely about get us out of Iraq, and cancel NAFTA.

73. one thing I do like about Dean every time I hear him...
He has a pretty darn good sense of history of the last 40 years and reminds folks about the nutty crap that went down with republicans and the proud legacy of Democrats.

Folks need to be reminded of this stuff. I'm not leaning toward Dean but I do like this style of his in his speeches.

And if he is our candidate, I am totally okay with that. Frankly, I'll be glad when we finally have our one person show and we can let them loose on Shrub.

82. Wow, Kucinich blew them out of the water.
They were all good; he was great.

I appreciate that he's proposing great policies, not safe
policies like those that don't want to protect American
jobs and don't want universal health care.

Dean was good, albeit vague about policies.

Edwards was...peppy. Seriously. He was very invigorating.
But didn't explain why he voted for the Iraq invasion.

Kerry was quite good.

83. The red card?
Everyone was suppose to have 15 minutes. Edwards was on time, Kerry was under 2 minutes over, Kucinich was on the mark, Dean was close to 15 minutes over. What's up with that? Dean was over 13 minutes long! Maybe my watch had a glitch, I dunno.

84. You actually time these? But...
"Everyone was suppose to have 15 minutes"

"Dean was close to 15 minutes over. What's up with that? Dean was over 13 minutes long! Maybe my watch had a glitch, I dunno."

There seems to be a contradiction there. No big deal.

86. I wasn't timing it, but...
it did seem that Dean's was longer than most.

Then again, there was really no one there to stop him, since all the other candidates left as soon as their bit was over. Dean got all the camera time at the end shaking hands and talking to people. That has to be valuable too, doesn't it? Why didn't the other candidates stick around?
