Speaking of Condi
all the repukes on the blog sites are now saying the PDB she handed Bush in August, 2001 did NOT say that Osama Bin Laden was going to attack the US with airplanes.

The only rebuttal I can find is on Michael Moore's website and they won't read that cause they hate him with a passion.

Do any of you know where there is evidence of the contents of this PDB from a more 'credible' source? Please understand I am not questioning MIchael Moore's credibility, but he has pissed them off so bad they won't read or give credibility to anything he puts out.

Thanks if you can help. I would like to lay this rumor to rest TODAY. I am tired of hearing the b.s. on this topic.

1. In her 9/11 testimony
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 11:39 AM by chamilto
she said she got a PDB that was titled, "Osama bin Laden determined to strike inside the United States". It was all over the news.

ON EDIT: here's a link http://edition.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/10/bush.briefing/

White House releases bin Laden memo
Presidential briefing was at center of Rice's testimony
Wednesday, May 19, 2004 Posted: 0422 GMT (1222 HKT)

(CNN) -- The White House declassified and released Saturday the daily intelligence briefing delivered to President Bush a month before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The declassified intelligence report said the FBI had detected "patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings."

The names of countries that supplied the CIA with intelligence have been removed from the memo dealing with Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network and dated August 6, 2001.

"We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting, such as that from a service in 1998 saying that bin Laden wanted to hijack a U.S. aircraft to secure the release of 'Blind Sheikh' Omar Abdel Rahman and other U.S.-held extremists," the memo says in part.

Rahman is serving a life sentence for conspiring to assassinate Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and to blow up New York landmarks.

2. That's what I thought
and that's what I first replied with. But believe it or not, the repukes are saying she corrected that statement later.

5. This is the part they are zeroing in on
"We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting"

It's like they are forgiving Bush because this was a 'maybe' claim and not a definite.

4. Airplanes or golf carts? Doesn't matter. She should've put us on ALERT!
She got a briefing called "BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE INSIDE THE UNTED STATES". Does the method really matter?

Bill Clinton didn't know what the terrorists were gonna do at the Millenium, but that didn't stop him from putting law enforcement on alert when he heard about the threat.

Remember the CIA Director and the Anti-terror chief were running around "with their hair on fire", but Bush & Co. stayed on vacation and didn't lift a finger to raise the alarm about *any* potential threat.

7. But haven't you heard?
dumbya's vacations are 'working vacations' because the prez is on duty 24/7.

I guess they all think clearing brush and chasing after armadillos are presidential duties.
