Bush Will Win The Next Debate
He had an off night for the first debate.

He is a master debater.

The Town Hall meeting will give him a chance to be relaxed and folksy.

The bar is so low for him now that if he walks out onto the stage and breathes, he wins.

1. sounds like the same points i just read in freeperland
this is good tho.. we don't want them to know how bad they really are doing lest they pull a MIHOP event out of fear and desperation

nod and smile and agree (then get 3 more dems registered)

19. I want to share a thought I read last night
A lot of people declare * a master debater, i.e. Ann Richards and Al Gore.
But keep one important thing in mind. When he debated them, he was not an incumbent, he was a challenger. He could promise the moon, and he did. He wasn't running on a previous record like he is now.
This is the first time he is truly being challenged and that is why he didn't do well last night, and won't do well in the two remaining debates either.

2. No he won't
Not in my opinion anyway.

He's going to be asked questions that he doesn't like to be asked. And unlike his fake, scripted 'press conferences' and his fake, scripted campaign rallies, he'll be pressured to speak at length on topics he'd just as soon forget.

I think he's going to lose both of the next two debates -- assuming they're held. Frankly, he may pull out.

13. After the first debate
I don't think he would. Depends I guess on what his people will do to make him look better than the first debate. :\ He has a wayyy to go to catch up.

3. everyone masturbates
But Bush is hopelessly outmatched in intelligence and debating skills. He will obviously try a dirty trick of some sort. That's what Kerry needs to be prepared for.

15. I've heard Bush is
supposed to be some sort of great debator from people. He didn't prove that to me, and all of us here I know, but only thing I can think of why he did so bad is he's so used to handwritten memorized speech's and not thinking on his feet like he had to on the debate. I sadly didn't see the debate last time. Is there any way I can see it or is it just impossible now?

7. That is right ...
Bush connects well to people. He is not stiff or senatorial or too smart. People don't like Presidents who are smarter than them. It makes them feel inferior. People are going to be rooting for Bush because they feel sorry for him. After all, isn't stupidity and sympathy-inducing incompetence what you want in a Commander-in-Chief?
:-)

Seriously though - the media will want Bush to win. So Kerry should raise expectations for Bush again and put the pressure on him to redeem himself.

8. It's true- he will mend his wounds & come back w/ a vengence!!!
WHOA is Kerry- if he cannot match Bush's folksy mannerisms in the townhall debate!

If Kerry shows up and just answers a few questions half-way right- it will be a victory by default!

10. Bush Is A Communicating Genius!
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 12:51 AM by Erika
His eloquence, diction, and intellect is something that Kerry can only hope to aspire to....We've all vastly misunderemistated Bush. We all know Kerry will bless the chance to be on the same stage as the Great One. Otherwise translated, Bush will flop once again. But he does add a certain comic relief.

11. All kidding aside
I wonder about the format. Wasn't it that town-hall bullshit that allowed Idiot King to surprise Gore?

I've noticed that Idiot King and podiums don't mix. Will he present a different challenge strolling around in front of a crowd?

Will he be able to stay dry for one week?

Questions abound.

12. With Bush and Kerry In the same crowd ....
Bush will be totally intimidated. Bush has no universal appeal and he's beginning to find that out. I almost felt sorry for him over the debate. He's as gullible as he was when his "advisors" said we'd be welcomed with flowers in Iraq. The jerk has been so isolated from Americans and their thoughts that he does believe we think he is a great leader.

17. What is the deal
with those questions though? Are they going to actually be seen in advance? That's what I heard, unless I took a temporary trip to the twilight zone. God I hope that's not right.

18. The Master was clearly conserving his energy...
...for the next two debates. We should all fear what he has in store for us. Remember, debating Bush is akin to debating God. There is no difference.

I beg of you, please have mercy on us, o' glorious Chimp!

21. ^
I love how I keep hearing what a great debater this guy is. How can a guy who doesn't even have a grasp of the English language be considered a great debater? Without his family's wealth, power and influence, he'd be lucky to be night manager at a Whataburger, let alone leader of the free world. Kerry just needs to come out and ask him to spell stuff. "Mr. President, you talk a lot about responsibility, but can you please spell the word 'responsibility'?" Either that, or he just needs to walk out, take off his jacket, roll up his sleeves and challenge him to a fist fight. "Come on, Georgie, let's see how tough you really are." That way the country would finally see that Bush is a pussy as well as an idiot.

22. When answering the first question
posed to him, Kerry says the following: "Before I respond to your very important question, I'd like to take a moment to thank you and all of the voters who took the time to be here this evening. Unlike my opponent whose campaign rallies are by invitation only for Republican partisans, I welcome all Americans to my campaign events. A free exchange of ideas is what America ought to be about, and I am grateful for the opportunity to respond to the questions and concerns you express tonight and as I campaign around the country in the next month."

Catch the dumbass off guard early in the debate, calling him out on his phony "rallies,"and watch his head explode. I think Kerry went pretty easy on him last night and is only now sharpening the knives.
