It backfired on them !!

I didn't see the debates, but streamed them today.

I think the media has been trying so hard to hide kerry and anything he says from public consumption that when they finally were forced to cover these debates and kerry got a chance to talk uninterrupted and uncensored their plan kind of backfired. People were just starving for someone to put King George in his place and now they are responding to the release of it finally happening.

They couldn't protect their poor boy george even with all the carefully crafted debate rules and stage setup. Kerry systematically tore him apart but not in a condescending way. It played out nice.

1. And they had all declaired bush the winner BEFORE the debate.

Now they are saying it was a draw. But the polls are saying Kerry won. And he did win.

3. They are going out of their way to say it was a tie..

or that it won't effect the outcome of the election.

I heard NPR interviewing people at a diner, and they interviewed 3 strong Bush supporters and one leaning Kerry. Then they played clips of Howard Stern and Imus saying they thought Bush did pretty well. It was such an obvious piece of spin.

all these desperate attempts at spinning are making him look really bad. i think they are making it worse for him, actually.

The more they whore for Bushco -- after people have seen with their own eyes that Kerry's 1000x more everything than Georgie will ever be -- the less credibility any of the media will carry as we near the election.

6. I don't think they can spin this like they did Gore's debate.

More people liked what they saw in Kerry debate than than they did when they saw Gore's debate.

I don't think the spin machine will change their minds about what they saw last night, especially what the saw in Bush.

7. I saw an undecided voter on a show that was PISSED and felt betrayed

by the media because Kerry was not the person he had been led to believe - flip-flopper, wishy washy, etc. He is now voting for Kerry.

9. Isn't it amazing what Kerry did with such a short amount of time on

a national platform? If they gave Kerry 1/20th the time they gave tantrum-boy, Kerry would be off the charts.

10. Every time Kerry is given time on mainstream media

his ratings go up and undecideds get decided. After the convention more undecideds went to Kerry and Kerry's base firmed up a little.

Too bad his speeches are not covered. If they were this would not even be a race at all.
