Did you notice Bush's pregnant pause last night?
I forget at which point in the debate it occurred, but Bush started a sentence, looked down and then went silent for a few seconds. It was eerie. My boyfriend said, "And?"

It brought to mind the seven minutes he spent looking like a deer in headlights on 9/11. That would make a good split screen. The look on Bush's face during the seven minutes on 9/11, and his moment of silence from the debate last night.

2. Happened a couple of times
More than once, he demanded an extra 30 seconds to rebut, then found himself with nothing to say.

By the last question, he had NOTHING to say...just that he was a 'easy going guy'.

3. I thought that there were several of those
I found it interesting that with such a limited amount of time there was a lot of silence and uh and ums... trying to draw out his time.

16. Exactly. He was all jumpy and eager to make a point...
... and then locks-up. That's the clip TDS used. It was almost as painful as his April "can't think of any mistakes" press conference meltdown.

7. the most telling time was
when he insisted on responding (even though he agreed to the debate rules and broke them) and then had that long pause. It looked like he forgot what he was angry about.

11. How about how he morphed North Korea into Iraq???

Near the end of the debate, Kerry laid into Bush about allowing North Korea to acquire nuclear weapons. In his rebuttal, Bush spewed some repetitive and tired line like "He looked at the same intelligence as me", mistakenly conflating North Korea and Iraq. It was bizarre.

I have not heard one comment about this, which confirmed for me that this guy is brain-damaged and obsessed with Iraq.

12. Admiral Stockdale would have been proud.
I honestly expected Bush to scream out:

"Who am I and what am I doing here?"
