"Kerry really surprised me by being so clear, concise, and firm. I really felt like he answered the questions and made the differences between himself and the President very clear. I didn't expect to be so bowled over by him, but I was.
On the other hand, I was embarrassed for the President. He didn't seem to know how to answer the questions and he ran out of material early on falling back on a lot of slogans and repetition. Sometimes he just seemed to lose sight of the question entirely and go off on a tangent about something else. He referred to terrorists as "a bunch of folks" and referred to our allies as "these people" in a contemptuous tone. To be honest, I think Kerry won this debate so conclusively that Bush didn't even come second."

"Kerry is still Flipper, I don't know how he can ran this country with his thinking. He will be like Carter/Clinton when it comes to defending this Great Country. We are in a Mess because they did not do nothing about what these demons did to us in the past. Kerry would have done what Carter/Clinton did, Nada/Nothing. He is like a Monday morning quarterback."

"The Democrat Underground website posted this website with the following talking points. That's mostly what has been parroted above. IMO, Bush should have done better. Kerry handed him some softballs that Bush failed to swing at. Give Kerry credit for looking less arrogant and condescending that usual (he still came across arrogant and condescending, just less than usual). That said, all Bush had to do was draw, which he did. Bush didn't make a gaffe and Kerry didn't land a zinger."
