Kerry's a Sagitarrius- have faith.
For anyone who half-heartedly believes in astrology, please know that of any of the signs that we could have in this position, Sagitarrius is by far the best.

Sagitarrians are natural leaders- as a mutable fire sign they are arguable the strongest and most respected of all the signs. They ARE late closers- Sagitarrius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion. In spherical expansion, the rate of volume pick-up increases exponentially as time goes on. Astrologically, this makes Sagitarrians strongest later in life, or in a campaign. They are the wisest of all the signs- you can be sure that Kerry has learned from his mistakes. And they NEVER question themselves- they're actually naive in that sense, but it honestly never even occurs to them that they COULD fail at something.

Which leads to one last thing:

Most of all, Sagitarrians have a reputation for being favored above all other signs by God. Seriously. They are like "God's children," picked out for protection because of their special abilities and naivete.

So, have faith.

103. & Here's the Weirdest and Most Fortuitous Part
After reading the linked thread, I had an oh-my-Zeus moment. A year or two ago at a flea market, there were these brass bottle openers, in zodiac figures. O.K., fine. My sign was not there. But these things were so beautiful that I bought 3 items, and YES, I know that a mermaid is NOT a Zodiac sign, O.K.?

So, I forget which was the third piece. But since it wasn't my sign, when I ran into whomever whose sign it was, I gave it to that person.

And I was planning to keep the mermaid, since it was sign-neutral. And I kept waiting to run into a Saggitarius to give this other piece to. Well, I haven't.

Then yesterday or the day before, somebody posted in GD2004 that John Forbes KERRY is a Sag, and that he is going to fulfill his destiny to LEAD us, and ----------BAM--------HERE is the Navy brass Sag:

17. Bush is going through the most difficult
Astrology time period now through the election. It's called the Saturn Return. (every 27-29 years; think of YOUR life back in that time frame and you might be able to relate).

For someone inclined to be irresponsible like Chimp, this is a good one to have hitting him now.

29. More on the Saturn Return effect
For the non-astrologers, Saturn is a planet known for loss, limitation, hardship and difficulty. Every 29 years or so it completes its cycle and ends up where it started and a new cycle begins. In human situations this generally creates a drastic change of events. If you look back, sometime between the ages of 28 - 30 something happened to you to knock you off course and send you in an entirely new direction, drastically changing the status quo and your worldview in the process. Perhaps it was a marriage, the start of a new business, a move to a new city, a new job, an accident or illness...whatever it was, it was BIG (and not necessarily an easy transition. Saturn has a way of knocking you up-side the head if you're not paying attention and it can be kick-ass when it needs to be.)

Now, if you don't get the first Saturn Return right (and we know Shrub's been a royal screw-up all his life), the second one is a real doozy and this is what he'll be up against for the election. AND his upcoming Saturn Return will be in the 12th house of "self-undoing" and "seclusion" while Mars in the 4th (foundation) is square the whole configuration which pretty well seals the deal. Shrub's days of power are numbered (providing that "Tecumseh's Curse" doesn't get him first - HA!)

99. More on the 2nd Saturn return....if the lessons
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 12:46 PM by Gloria
of the first return are not integrated into the person, then by the 2nd return, the shit hits the fan. Saturn is a karmic planet...the lessons not learned come back in spades for the 2nd return.

The 1st return is the demarcation between youth and emerging maturity. Issues of taking responsiblity are dealt with. If the person doesn't mature and accept the responsiblities represented by the Saturn return, then there's trouble down the road.

At the 2nd return, it's time to face the music...one way or another.
If Bush is installed again, his 2nd term will be hellish, not only for us, but him as well....(I hope)

102. uh, NO, *'s a weenie Cancer
but his Mercury and Venus, Pluto are ALL in Leo, that is what makes him so STUBBORN and BOMBASTIC!! AGH!!!

http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/pnr/BushGeorgeWPNR.htm

Ohmigod, where to start dissecting *'s chart? LEO rising, all major planets in first house, except his weenie Cancer Sun almost conjunct Saturn, hiding in the 12th house (house of secrets, sorrows) GWB is a CONSUMMATE destroyer -- with PLUTO conjunct Mercury, and Venus in Leo in the first house, he'll destroy himself and then the rest of us. Frightening. He wouldn't think twice about nuking the world, believe me. Hence his lack of caring what history will think of him, because we'll ALL BE DEAD.

The 'charm' factor is from Moon in Libra, everyone loves these folks (trust me I am one, and have been told that I can be the queen of manipulations) His Mars (action planet) is in weak sign of Virgo square Uranus in Gemini, advice to *: you should avoid machinery until you learn to protect yourself (LOL!!!)

Bottom line, this guys' chart is LOADED with friggin square aspects. He is an accident waiting to happen. Definitely NOT a happy upbringing. I could go on and on...

barfola, *'s chart is close to mine, but I am a Leo Sun, merc in Cancer, Moon in Libra, Mars in taurus those are the most important and personal planets; Can't understand why I hate this dick so much though, on an astro-level -- Bushler makes hairs rise on my arms whenever I see his face.

44. Well, the funny thing about Sags is that
they typically don't WANT to be followed- it gets in the way of their moving around the way that they want to. It's not an ego thing for them.

Leos, on the other hand, get depressed when they're not the center of attention. Leos have very good, lighthearted energy, but they're very different from Sags in many respects.

43. Me? A natural leader? I don't even lead in my home...
I guess I'm an exception for Sagitarrians? Yes, I'm naive at times, especially when it comes to women, but I'm also always questioning myself and am always pessimistic about my chances at success.

I'm also definitely more of a follower when it comes to work & friends, while my wife is a natural leader at those things (she was born April 5)

93. Actually, there is another classification that better fits the
Sagittarian. That is the maverick, who neither follows well, or really cares if anyone follows him. We are far to independent to be concerned whether or not the sheeple follow.

I used to have a Virgo sig other and he drove me out of my mind trying to put a number value to everthing. For instance he once asked me what was the percentage chance that I would change my mind about where I wanted to have dinner.

seemingly picky, they they try to save the world and everyone in it. Even those who don't want to be saved. :D and it makes them seem overly critical and cranky.

What do YOU know about astrology?

How about answering this: What's the difference between the new and the old astrology? And which do you subscribe to? And why?

81. Is this a quiz, lol?
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 03:15 AM by incapsulated
Are you referring to the debate between the new interest in "traditional" Horary astrology, which is more "fate-based" versus the more contemporary personality-based, free-will interpretation? I lean toward the later. Why?

I have a more than a few questions about your interpretation of the sun sign Sagittarius, however. First off, if you've studied astrology, you should know that the sun sign, in and of itself, is a small and extremely limited way to view a person from an astrological viewpoint. The entire chart is what is used. The rising sign or moon sign could just as easily be used to give a general description of a personality and the moon is what is used in that capacity in Vedic astrology. Even then it is a very general assessment without the entire chart. And in presidential politics, the individual's chart would be compared to the nation's chart, as well.

Also:

"Sagitarrians are natural leaders- as a mutable fire sign they are arguable the strongest and most respected of all the signs."

Mutable simply means that the sign is flexible and adaptable. Cardinal signs actually have more "leadership" qualities because they are initiators although Fire does add passion and strong beliefs. You have to look at the whole chart.

"strongest and most respected" What does this mean? Strongest in what sense? Respected by who?

"Astrologically, this makes Sagitarrians strongest later in life"

Actually, this concept is attributed to Capricorn, because they are ruled by Saturn, the planet that rules old age among other things. Jupiter is aligned with youth and idealism. Kerry does, however, have a strong Saturn influence in his chart.

"They are the wisest of all the signs" - No sign has ownership of wisdom, each has it's own wisdom.

"And they NEVER question themselves- they're actually naive in that sense, but it honestly never even occurs to them that they COULD fail at something."

Once again, this is generalization, which doesn't take into account the entire chart and aspects. Sag's generally have a great need, more than other signs, to feel optimistic about life in order to be emotionally healthy, but it doesn't mean that they do.

"Most of all, Sagitarrians have a reputation for being favored above all other signs by God. Seriously. They are like "God's children," picked out for protection because of their special abilities and naivete."

Luck is attributed to Jupiter, which rules the sign. But where is Jupiter in the native chart? What aspects does it have? Where is it during a particular event?

And God doesn't favor any sign, in my belief system, lol.

88. Yes,
of COURSE more than one planet affects the personality. For some reason :eyes: I just didn't feel like doing a full chart on Kerry for this post- I don't think it would have added to the post. In fact, it would have been a "detriment" (ha ha!). In any case, the Sun sign has the greatest affect over personality of any of the signs, barring a Cancer moon.

I know exactly what mutable means, and cardinal signs have nowhere near a monopoly on leadership. The mutable fire sign Sagitarrius has a talent for charm and a power that far surpasses any of the other signs- people look up to them out of respect not for being bullheaded and determined (and stupid, sometimes), like an Aries, but for the seamless way in which they approach things and people. The WISDOM they gain (see "sage") in their travels is unsurpassed. There's a lot more to leadership than just charging head-on into danger and being overly-competitive. People are extremely envious of Sagitarrians (maybe you?) and their philosophy toward life, and follow them.

And I totally disagree with you on your statement that Jupiter is aligned with youth- that would be Mercury, Jupiter's polar opposite. And although Jupiter DOES have very, very strong connections with idealism, Saturn, ruling Aquarius (and Capricorn- think about the neocons) and aligning with societal structures, is the strongest in that area.

Your commentary makes me believe that while you may have studied plenty of astrology, you never truly studied the system of the old astrology. You don't see how the planets align against each other (Mercury vs Jupiter, Mars vs. Venus, the Sun and Moon vs. Saturn), and you don't have a firm grasp on the aspects of life that each planet represents. You've got an idea of the personality aspects of the signs, but you don't understand that those influences are simply the masculine and feminine sides of the same conceptual coin.

This is the old astrology- the only astrological system that is anything other than arbitrary.

And, yes, Sagitarrians are "lucky"- God (or "the gods) have a tendency to look out for them.

...they are generally really wonderful! They are emotional homebodies, strongly influenced by their relationships with their mothers. I'm not sure what the rest of his chart looks like, but PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE MOON CHILDREN BY SHRUB!!! In fact, let's just call the SOB Evil, and be done with it.

Kerry is going to be a fabulous President! And since I'm a Sag with "the gift of wisdom" accept what I say as truth.
