has anyone watched all or most of Bush's debates ?
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 11:32 AM by JI7
from his debates when he ran for governor , the republican primary debates, and the ones against al gore. i was wondering if his debating style was similar in all the debates.

did he change his style depending on how he was doing. for example was he tougher after mccain won the new hampshire primary. is there any area(s) where he has been pretty consistent in his style ? and whatever else you may have noticed.

1. 1. Yes, I have watched all of his debates 2. Yes, he has changed
His style, particularly in the debates versus Anne Richards, is entirely different than the style you see him using today. Back in the Richards vs. Texas days, he was surprisingly (At least in comparison to today) knowledgable in terms of his answers to poignant questions. He clearly flustered Richards several times with pinpoint answers.

When he ran for President in 2000, his debates vs. McCain, he began his steady march towards "Good-old boy Texas twang well shucks I'm just a regular guy" talk.

4. I watched the re-run of the 2000 debates with Gore
and it was very apparent to me that he has lost a great deal of sharpness. He was totally full of shit in 2000, but he had fewer speech defects and could articulate his lies serially, and not jumble them all together in one disconnected sentence like he does now.

6. I saw some of a 2000 debate, and the difference is DRAMATIC.
Lies, lies - all of it, but * sounded nothing like the bumbling idiot he does now. What is going on with him?

8. I suspect brain damage from heavy cocaine abuse
or the current use of "prescription drugs" that keep him from drooling in public.

7. Listened to them on cspan radio and it
was scary. His speech defects have degenerated over the years. The guy's going senile.
