Are you sick of the lies and bullshit ?
Bush is a moral and godly man. It was Clinton's fault that the terrorists attacked us on 9/11. It is the terrorists fault that our economy is in the shitter. It was the corporate scandals and the terrorists that are to blame for the huge deficits we now have...Bush is far ahead in all the polls...

Bush is a compassionate conservative. He is a uniter. He is a strong leader. He is decisive. America is safer with Saddam in prison. The world is safer with Saddam gone. Kerry is a flip-flopper. Bush says what he means and means what he says. More Iraqis believe Iraq is on the right track than Americans believe that America is on the right track. George W Bush is a great debater. Blah-blah-blah-blah-blah....

If you are sick of the lies and the covering of those lies by the whores in the media, then you are not alone. If you are tired of the silly and absurd bullshit that is passed off as some sort of intellectual thought, then you are not alone. I cannot wait until this election is over. Because it will tell me all I need to know about America.

5. BEEN sick of it.
For years. Didn't pay much attention to politics until Clinton's first term and I saw how well he was doing and heard all the bullshit hatefulness about it and it made me a Clinton supporter.

Sick to death of it.

9. I hate this whole damn election
I've been as upbeat as anyone here, but for some reason I'm just angry right now.

I know that Gallup is worthless, but I can't get over the fact that their most recent "poll" has Shrub with a 61 to 34 lead on the issue of who is best on the issue dealing with terrorism.

Even if this number is skewed by 10 points or so, how the hell can a majority of people honestly believe this? Is Gallup even more skewed than we originally thought? Are people just this stupid?

Between the bogus polling, the complicit media, the Swift Boat Liars and the flip-flop BS, I'm about to lose it. What the hell is wrong with people?!?!?

10. This is Racketeering
The part most loyal Dem's don't get -- and I can't figure out why not -- is that the Rovians will SAY ANTHING, DO ANYTHING, LIE ABOUT ANYTHING, PROMISE ANYTHING, TRASH ANYTHING to remain in power.

These guys play rough. At present, it looks like our guy (a fine candidate and a fine man) can't get it up and PUT THE WOOD TO THESE PIGFREAKERS!

John, show you got a pair. Take it to these losers.

If you don't, DARK FORCES are going to rise in America.

Meanwhile, Vancouver is a very prosperous city. See you in the Hotel Vancouver bar, eh? (The Canucks say "eh" a lot.)

17. I Don't Mean the Team
I've tried to get into the NHL, but can't. I use "Canuck" in the generic sense - i.e.,. "person from Canada."

You know how they spell Canada, don't you?

C - eh? - N - eh? - D - eh?

By the way, there's great Chinese food in Vancouver, in Gastown. And the lawyers wear black robes (but not wigs) in court.

11. Darn Right I'm Sick of It
I don't understand why the media ignores all the juicy stories that Bush is laden with for them to go investigate and report on. Then I get even madder at Kerry's inability (although I hear it's been better of late) to capitalize on the Idioticacy (I know, it's not a word)of BushCo.

The man is no Christian. Why can't anyone see that?

They did this study that I read about a number of months ago and Bush is kind of like a Rorsach Test. The exact same characteristic is viewed in direct opposition by pro-Bushites and anti-Bushites. The "smirk" I see is someone else's humour, the arrogant swagger I see, is someone else's confidence, the inability to form a coherent sentence telling me the man has alcohol and drug fried brains is someone else's down-home charm, the stubborness to the point of 1000+ innocent Americans and scores of innocent Iraqi's mangled and murdered is someone else's resoluteness. It amazes me. Just floors me that so called "thinking" people can look at this Bumble-Rod and want him in charge of anything. I wouldn't let him count paper-clips, much less precide over our multi-trillion dollar government.

Aaaaarrrgggghhhh. Please tell me that the polls are wrong and this Nim-Rod will be on his way back to Crawford where he can fish to his little ole hearts desire without being interrupted by pesky PDB's with title's like "Bin Laden Determined to Strike US". Can't let nothin get in the way of a real man's fishing session......

16. Yes, He's Dumb, But
the RW's project their own desires onto him. He speaks in Bible-thumper code ("what's in my heart," "the soul of a man," "evildoers") and the Bible-thumpers get the code.

Besides, they're being conned. Bush is the "Face." Cheney and his Godless global capitalistas are the ones running the thing.

Unfortunately, it's lookin' in some of those swing states like the Chimp is going to con them into voting for him. Sitting here in California, where Kerry will outpoll Bush by 1.5 million votes, it's hard not to be bitter.

23. They hated Bush I and
loved Ronnie for the same reason, I think: Ronnie too was a "face" as you say -- he prescribed major themes and left the minutiae to the zealots and so the wing nuts were happy, just as they are now.

However, I think they did not like Bush I too much because he may actually have wanted to dictate policy too...

14. YES! I'm f**king SICK of it!
They are liars and cowards and hypocrites extreme, and they care not one bit about the maintenance or even the survival of our democracy, our America. They don't give one damn about it.

And the media just pushes and pumps that fear into the susceptible sleeple masses like a bottle to a baby. Weak, scared, and dependent - America, bush style.

26. Lack of good information is the other side of this....
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 09:54 AM by wadestock
The combination of the two has resulted in an unprecedented DUMBING DOWN of America. If you recall Pitt's post, "Dumbest-Election-Ever"...that's the essential jist of it.

I have to agree with you that the lies have been generally accepted as a compaign tool. Keep repeating the lie...and it takes hold.

For God's sake...Limbaugh is a fundamental component of this...he DEFINES the ability to couch a lie....sweeten schit so people can swallow it.

But I think if the election is lost...you have to look at the clever combination effect of BAD information PLUS the technique to keep GOOD information out of reach....

Keeping you from thinking is an essential means to help you swallow schit.

I heard a lady call in on air America last nite and say...she had seen Kerry's speech ...thought it was wonderful...then turned on the news...and they downplayed the whole thing....didn't cover it properly...it was like she couldn't believe they were talking about the event she had seen. You might find it hard to believe that the new right wing media does this intentionally. I wouldn't exactly explain it that way....but view it as a CULTURE of inneptitude and finding BS "cool" that has prevailed and been positively rewarded.

This has been going on now for quite sometime. I talked to another friend recently....he is a Vietnam Vet and I hang with a dozen of these that are VERY pro Kerry for a whole list of factual reasons. Now this guy suddenly starts saying...well...I just don't know about this thing with Kerry voting against the war. Well...we're looking at him dumbfounded....like WTF are you talking about.

It took literally a half hour to "deprogram" this guy and get him to start thinking in terms of ....do you see...first A happened, then B...then C. Through his watching TV he had been successfully dumbed down.
