Voter registration through the roof in Ohio
<snip>

Project Vote says it has registered 147,000 new voters in Ohio. Americans Coming Together said that, together with allied groups that are part of America Votes, it had registered 300,000 new voters. America Votes and ACT are openly Democratic, although they cannot legally coordinate with the party or the Kerry campaign.

Very good article. A must read! Forget about the BS polls! Come Nov 2nd BushCo will be history!

2. according to the article...
The fundies don't come even close to what our side is doing. If we can get our voters to the polls it won't be even close.

BushCo is history. I can't wait to see all pundit's and pollster's faces on election night.

6. The pubs have proved that they have a powerful ground game.
They know how to turn 'em out. BUT, if we can get even a decent percentage of our guys to the polls, we got it done. Thing is, there are more of us than there are of them.

3. Cuyahoga Cty, Ohio BOE is way behind in processing new registrations
(That's Cleveland, btw) The Board of Elections won't let volunteers process them, and they are not hiring people to process them. Grrrr.

Now the good news: "new registrations have increased just 25 percent in Republican areas." That is "just keeping up" with the turnover due to republicans moving. Meanwhile, in Democratic areas, registration is 250% > year 2000.

If the "bumpersticker wars" are any indication, Bush is going to get blown out in Northeast Ohio.

5. I ordered 120 from "The Dem Store"
www.demstore.com is cheaper than the kerry store, $0.38 / each in those quantities.

In my county, Lake, they give out K/E stickers at the Kerry HQ. Yard signs are all gone, though.

I have a few left. If you are desperate, pm me w/ your address and I will send you one.

7. Why isn't this reflected in the polls?
Do the polling people not understand what is going on here? Are they just talking to people who voted in the last election?

We here at DU are well aware that this has been going on, many of us are working hard every day to help make it happen.

Why, if the pollsters don't want to look like fools come election day, aren't they taking this into consideration?

9. Report from SW Ohio

I can tell you that ACT, Young Voter Alliance, VoteMob and MoveOn are here right now.

I personally prefer street canvassing to phone banks and door to door. I am concentrating on motivating African American youth. The Draft Alert flyer has been very effective in getting their attention. I not only post this near bus stops and baall courts, I am taking it into black barber shops. We are a diverse party and we can interact with each other. I have never felt unsafe mingling, cajoling, motivating and registering African Americans in what many white people would call bad neighborhoods. I wear my Vote Mob T shirt, sometimes just pointing to it as I pass people on the street saying Nov. 2. I get a lot of smiles and affirmation of the message. There are virtually no Bush supportes in the black community.

10. Thank you for your hard work
I have those flyers. They're excellent. In fact I'm going out on the streets of Brooklyn today to put a bunch up! Not that Brooklyn is in any danger of going Bush :) But you know, every little bit helps.
