The DNC really needs to get someone besides Tad Devine...
... to appear on behalf of the Kerry campaign.

He has a very "used car salesman" appearance/style about him. He reminds me too much of the RNC's Terry Holt.

3. Devine is Bob Shrum's partner -- and they've been demoted a bit.
Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 11:08 PM by 2004 Victory
With the Clintonistas taking over, the Shrum group has been overruled on strategy and talking points. About time.

Shrum is credited with convincing Kerry NOT to respond to SwiftBoat ads -- Shrum is the original "take the high road" adviser. He did the same disservice with Gore and Dukakis.

Clinton didn't use him at all -- and look at the results.

4. Oh really?! How very interesting..
You don't exactly have to take the low road to respond attacks against you. That's what I happen..rapid fire response like Clinton!

That's the only way to fight these monsters..as you would any enemy!

7. Shrum is a loser . 0-7 in presidential elections.
and if Kerry wins it will be in spite of people like Shrum and Cahill who have been helping Democrats lose big elections for a generation.

Democrats only win when bare knuckled brawlers like Carville are in control of strategy and message.

Cahill and Shrum are of the tea and crumpet crowd and don't seem to be able to connect with people outside of the northeast.

5. Odd....always seems to do a good job...
Devine is one of those I think can stay on message and deflect comments and turn them back around. And when I've seen him on, he doesn't seem easily rattled either....

6. It's an appearance thing... he sneers, and just has a slimy, salesman look
Maybe it's just me, but looks are important when people process the credibility of the message.
