1. Disgusting, in both cases...
one does not justify the other.

2. That story just got buried by the actions of the moron that tore the sign
The Gold Star mother was arrested. The little girl had her sign torn up by a big, bad, union T-shirt wearing, testosterone filled man.

Which of the two stories will get the most play in the media?

5. Should I mention Medea Benjamin being dragged out of the DNC
for daring to unfurl an antiwar banner?

I see little difference between the two parties tonight.

Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 12:25 AM by LibertyChick
I can already anticipate that I may need it in response to the mean-old-librul-made-little-conservative-girl-cry story I will receive tomorrow in my e-mail.

While I don't condone tearing a sign away from a 3 year old, that stupid fat white man should not have brought his little girl into a political rally holding a sign of the other candidate. He wants to agitate at a Kerry rally? Do it himself.

We are now arresting, yes arresting people who wear adversarial T-shirts and heckle our leaders in public events. Removal from the venue is reasonable and to be expected, but arrested? What crime did she committ? When did America become East Germany?

9. I'll repeat myself
You are justifying sinking to the same level as the other side.

If you do that, then they are justified fully, at least in their mind

Look at the reaction from Thereza Heinz when tehy screamed four more years, "they want four more years of hell!"

Kerry himself, I see they sent their brown shirts today

The freedom of speech rights of those people were NOT violated, they were highly embarrased but they were not violated in any way, nor offered a good photo op for the other side.

If you see another kid carrying a bush chenney sign at a Kerry rally, engage them civily, or just ignore them... but do not make a child cry... it looks bad.

Oh and if this was a Rove plant, whoever did that to the kid, took the bait, the hook, the sinker, the pole and the arm all the wsy to the shoulder...

Yes you need to think STRATEGICALLY.... this makes us look bad, just as those idiots wearing purple heart band aids at the convention... it is infantile but so easily exploitable.

Are you accusing the person who started this thread of making a child cry?

12. No just pointing out taht JUSTIFYING
actions such as this is wrong.....

And no he did not, as far as I know, tear the sign, but chances are we ALL may be in that situation.

Chalk it to training, but you should have a plan of action for situations like that one...

Oh and that plan of action INCLUDES cameras

You'd see a headline on Drudge tomorrow... "Some people are saying that the little girl pic was staged.."

In 48 hours the mainstream news would pick it up and they'd be demanding an apology...

I don't endorse it, I just say it's an isolated incident and we need to move on.

*Edited for spelling*

14. Sorry, but Nothing makes hurting that childs feelings ok
Adults can do as they please i guess..to Each Other (unless it's violent) but the child hurt no one and dosen't even understand why people were mad. Taking something from a childs hands is not excusable IMO.

16. It's not justifying that, it's the irony
The IRONY of the fact that a woman whose son was killed in Iraq has been ARRESTED TODAY for asking Laura Bush WHY?

I'm sorry, no, it's not right to hurt the kid's feelings, but the arrest is MORE IMPORTANT.

It simply is more important.

17. This is BULLSHIT.
This is NOT a real campaign issue.

Dead kids in IRAQ are campaign issues. Millions of children without HEALTH CARE in our country are campaign issues. Millions of kids in schools who aren't getting a proper education because Bush is pulling their funding are campaign issues.

Some dumbass Repuke who KNOWINGLY brings his kid to an EDWARDS campaign rally and gets his sign torn up is NOT a campaign issue.

22. Losing a Son Versus Losing a Sign?
There is no comparison, none.

Too bad for the little girl. Personally I dont know any parent irresponsible enough to bring a child to a rally, where he knows he isn't going to be met with flowers and candy (ie;Iraq). I think it was a cowardly act on his part.

But after watching Sue Niederer, handcuffed, arrested and carted away for asking why her son Army 1st Lt. Seth Dvorin, 24, was killed in Iraq, for no wmd's and no links to 9/11, to me, thats as low as you can go.

Mrs Niederer cant get her son back, I'm sure the little girl can get a new sign. And maybe her father some brains and guts, let him show by up by himself the next time instead of using that kid as a shield.

23. That little girls father is a professional disruptor...
...and he's using his child as a tool. He should be ashamed of himself.

That woman got arrested for protesting at LAURA Bush's rally, in the hallway, but of course, count on the corpowhore media to do what it does. We've GOT to win this without any anticipation of cooperation or fairness from the corpowhores. Then we dismantle their power.

28. I swear to god....
if this stupid fucking picture of a little girl crying because she lost her god damn sign gets ANY ply in the media, I will personally circulate all over the god damn state that picture next to that poor iraqi kid who got his limbs blown off. And ask, which is the real crime? Along with a story about the mother who lost her child and was arrested for daring to question Laura Bush. This whole thing is bullshit.
any media who plays this up IS in bed with rove and the rnc.
