Dear Media, "Governors races are worth diddly-squat"
We had a GOP governor in this state a few years ago and was effectively lame. He had no power whatsoever with a Democratic assembly and senate. Governors races are lack-lustre. Voters aren't stimulated to dash out with the flu to vote for govs or mayors as they don't equate to national politics.

The media of course could have positioned themselves differently. The headlines should have read "Dems make big win in NY" etc and in smaller heading "GOP makes some gains in governor races" but no. the media shows their RW bias and pushed by its sponsors.

would someone go out on TV and say that?
