Fuck Taking the High Road
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 12:24 PM by PopSixSquish
For the past eight years (longer actually), I as a Democrat have been called everything from a baby-killer to unpatriotic and unAmerican by those on the right and their "flying monkeys" in the news media. And now the RNC is all twitterpated because the DNC "dared" to finally call them on their bullshit.

When I protested against the Iraq war, I was told that I was on the side of terrorists to do this country harm. When I questioned the fact that the last President and his minions ripped up the Constitution and used legal gymastics worthy of Nadia Comaneci to justify anything and everything they did, I was told that I was giving aid and comfort to America's enemies.

So when Limbaugh and rest of his mouth-breathers say that he agrees with the Taliban and Iran that my President doesn't deserve the Nobel prize. Fuck taking the high road. When a Congressman yells out "you lie" while my President is giving a speech on the floor of Congress. Fuck taking the high road. When other side would rather see my fellow Americans die from disease and starvation because they want my President to "fail", fuck taking the high road. When ignorant and bigoted people send racist emails depicting my President as a witch doctor, when they show up to where he's speaking wearing guns, when they spend thousands of dollars trying to prove that he wasn't born in America, when a child wearing a t-shirt with the peace symbol causes grownups (and I use that term loosely) to go batshit crazy and call her "ghetto trash"

WELL FUCK TAKING THE HIGH ROAD!

Read the DNC statement:

“The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists — the Taliban and Hamas this morning — in criticizing the president for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize,”

The DNC isn't calling the Republican Party terrorists (though the argument could be made), they are saying that rather than say "Congratulations Mr. President" or nothing at all, the Republican party is agreeing with the Taliban and Hamas. They are agreeing with the very people, they've spent the past 8 years attacking, demonizing, and generally acting like asses about.

I'm usually not a fan of tit-for-tat, but for the reasons I stated above...FUCK TAKING THE HIGH ROAD!

(and no I don't feel better now but thanks for asking)

3. I still remember them lecturing me about having respect for the Office of the Presidency
Where is that respect with them now?

6. Politics is a full-contact sport.
If you try being nice, you will be clobbered.

The correct tactics we should be using is BABN - BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

That means we bitch-slap them, we go nuts when one of them is embroiled in a scandal, we do anything and everything we can do to fuck them.

That's how we win, not by being nice.

8. Here we go again. These "fuck the high road" posts
pop up periodically just like mushrooms.

Thankfully Obama is too smart to adhere to this sentiment. Taking the high road has always been and always will be, the true source of his power.

Now as far as other democrats, I say have at it. They should be attacking like Grayson.

9. I'm All for the President to Continue Being the Class Act That He Is
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 02:49 PM by PopSixSquish
However, I want the DNC to blast the RNC, I want Rahm Emanuel up in the face of Republican members of Congress demanding that Joe Wilson apologize, I want Robert Gibbs to continue to get off his zingers during the daily briefings, I want Nancy Pelosi to remind the RNC that her place is as Speaker of the House and I want Rep Grayson to keep telling it like it is...

I think you and I actually agree here.

:hi:
