1. There's a story behind that photo of the President and Reggie...
Edited on Thu Oct-08-09 03:43 PM by Clio the Leo
... there were two basketball events at the WH today that were closed press. When asked why during the briefing today, Gibbs joked about wanting to protect the interests on the parties involved .... or the stats rather "ha ha."

He related a story that Reggie Love, the President's personal aide had left a pick up game with the President and when asked by the Press how it went, Reggie told him that "Gibbs said I cant say."

Gibbs revealed that Reggie was blatantly lying because, what really happened was that the President got in "about seven" blocks on the former Duke forward. Not only that, but WH photographer Pete Souza had gotten a shot of one of them (shown above.)

The President had the photo blown up and, after asking Reggie to sign it, gave the photo a place of honor in the West wing.

A few minutes go by in the briefing someone (it would have been funny if it was the President but that's unlikely and you couldn't see who it was) brought the HUGE photo to Gibbs to show the press ....... he held it up with great pride.

A few more minutes went by ..... and in comes Reggie who snatched the photo and swatted Gibbs on the arm.

Gibbs then joked that he'd be conducting the rest of the briefing hiding under his desk in his office.
