1. WHAT Honeymoon?
the dude walked into a disaster left by 8 years of BushCo and hasn't had the time to have any 'honeymoon'. Oh, here's the presidency...and a depression coming...good luck...and see ya....

4. and how much time off?
A highly criticized NYC Friday night date with his wife, a week or so (interrupted) on the Vineyard, a few weekends at Camp David, compared to *'s numerous Crawford brush-clearing vacations, Kennebunkport trips, etc.

3. Considering his approval number went up to 61% this week, I guess CNN is FOS.
His "honeymoon" lasted about 8 hours.

More "news" from the "liberal media"?

6. This is what they tell me.
That is, this is what the media has said about a honeymoon.

Sorry but that's just what they said.

8. Obama's honeymoon ended the day the first teabagger opened his yap.
Edited on Thu Oct-08-09 09:07 AM by gauguin57
... the day the first bigot hoisted a sign with swastikas and hammers and sickles all over it (?!)

Because that's the day the media said, "People are bored with the narrative of the inspirational African-American president. They need something else shiny to look at. Hey ... there are a bunch of bigmouthed fools with misspelled signs and funny hats! Let's publicize these astroturfers, and call them "grassroots America" -- and let's not mention that they're bought and paid for by Big Pharma and the Insurance Lobby. Our ratings will go through the ROOF!"

10. What honeymoon?
His honeymoon ended on Jan 22, 12:01AM EST.

I never believed his approval rating was 60+ %, it was driven by right wingers feeling too racist to disregard the president in his first few months. Until now he has managed to hold on to his voter base, but he has moved towards center, we need to see how this impacts in next 6 months.

13. You can only vote once and have it count.
but I have voted about twenty times just because it makes me so mad!!!

If he had a Honeymoon it would compare with the people who were pushed off the cruise ships on theirs, because the media and RWers have been trying to politically drown him since the day he took office and some of the Democratic party have been waxing the deck to help them out.

Sorry for the lemons but I am not in the best of moods today and cannot find any good news to make me feel better.

16. Who cares? That's old school..President Obama is there with
his Team doing the work..and now they've got the whorepress on notice..which never gave them a so called "honeymoon".

<snip>

"All the criticism, both fair and misleading, took a toll, regularly knocking the White House off message. So a new White House strategy has emerged: rather than just giving reporters ammunition to "fact-check" Obama's many critics, the White House decided it would become a player, issuing biting attacks on those pundits, politicians and outlets that make what the White House believes to be misleading or simply false claims, like the assertion that health-care reform would establish new "sex clinics" in schools. Obama, fresh from his vacation on Martha's Vineyard, cheered on the effort, telling his aides he wanted to "call 'em out."

The take-no-prisoners turn has come as a surprise to some in the press, considering the largely favorable coverage that candidate Obama received last fall and given the President's vows to lower the rhetorical temperature in Washington and not pay attention to cable hyperbole. Instead, the White House blog now issues regular denunciations of the Administration's critics, including a recent post that announced "Fox lies" and suggested that the cable network was unpatriotic for criticizing Obama's 2016 Olympics effort.

White House officials offer no apologies. "The best analogy is probably baseball," says Gibbs. "The only way to get somebody to stop crowding the plate is to throw a fastball at them. They move."
