3. Take courage from the fact that he had the courage to go out on
a limb for Chicago and this country. He's a strong man, he'll do fine. The Olympics is a blip.

23. Are you referring to the article I posted a few days ago?
The only reason why I posted that was because I thought it was one of the worst articles ever written, as if presidents are to be judged on whether or not they can bring the olympics to the USA.

I spit my coffee up when I read that.

I wanted DUers to weigh in on it.

:hi:

25. No, but I'm rememberingish now..
No, I was refering to Rachel's Video on Obama's so called "failure".

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x382814

And PO's take on so called "failure"..

"That's okay. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures. J.K. Rowling's -- who wrote Harry Potter -- her first Harry Potter book was rejected 12 times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team. He lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career. But he once said, "I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that's why I succeed."

These people succeeded because they understood that you can't let your failures define you -- you have to let your failures teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently the next time.
snip
No one's born being good at all things. You become good at things through hard work......You've got to practice.
snip
And even when you're struggling, even when you're discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you, don't ever give up on yourself, because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your country.

The story of America isn't about people who quit when things got tough. It's about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best."
snip

The only failure is not trying to get jobs for your Country.:)

I especially like the fact that you didn't point out that this is sarcasm.

I'm totally with you: it's a great big "So what?" that he took a shot and it didn't work. Big damned deal. There's nothing wrong with lobbying the powers that be, and there's no shame in not getting one's way. He was being a good CEO and booster; so what that they had other plans.

35. It's really easy - The US Visa policy
No country wanted to deal with the hassle of the extreme Visa policy that the * admin put in place. Hell half the athletes and many tourist simply wouldn't be able to enter the country.

On another note it's the first time an Olympics has been held on that continent.
