This is unsettling:
http://www.mikepence.com /

Note that it is not Pence's Congressional site. There appears to be no organizational affiliation represented at all.

It appears to be a preliminary context for a run for the presidency.

Which is unsettling because the particular ego involved is Mike Pence.

5. rasputin's answer was far more civil than mine would have been.
Mine would have involved references to physiological acts with farm animals.

2. As Dylan said "When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose"...
The GOP has morphed into "Losers United" and they're all thinking "Why not me?". Pence was first in line.

6. Hi, lamp_shade. Good insight. They really are down to the dregs of the barrel,
no question.

And who's down there is a macabre bunch. Pence among them.

4. His ego must be hugh, because he has the brain the size of a pea.
When I think of him, I think of cornyn, both legends in their own mind.

Look up dumb, you get Pence's pic.

7. Completely agree -- he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and the
drawer's been missing both hinges for years.

I get a combo of dumb & dangerous with this guy.

But also consider he ran for Republican leader in 2006 (and lost to Boehner) is Republican Conference Chairman, and he third highest Republican leadership position in the House behind Boehner and Cantor (and in a fight with Cantor for who has more power). It is not uncommon for Congress people and Senator to have their own website for reelection purposes either.

Cantor has one as well http://ericcantor.com /. Those two will end up destroying each other by fighting for the highest post in the House, if we are lucky.

9. Yes. It's a scary, unsettling crowd gathering around the Republican
Leadership circle and maybe the presidential pool as well.

Certainly Cantor was bandied about last fall as McCain's running mate.

Boehner evidently sees himself in the Oval office. Kinda scary in and of itself.

And now we have this unaffiliated, unclaimed web clip of the Himmleresque Mike Pence.

I may need some serious Haldol before this is over.

12. If somehow we could arrange for his total rejection by voters, but these
are the same folks who voted for Nixon and Reagan and both Bushes in high numbers. Dubya likely cheated twice but even so the election was close enough to cheat on.

Kinda creepy, very unsettling.

11. Pence is a FAR right wacko.
Edited on Sat Oct-03-09 12:48 PM by GrantDem
Abortion (anti-choice) - no one except the FAR right even cares about this issue anymore.
Deficit - GOP complaining about spending is like an arsonist complaining about the fire department wasting water.
Taxes - he played a clip of the VP advocating raising taxes on the wealthy to give middle-class wage earners a tax break. I seen a poll somewhere showing majority support for this.

Mike Pence is the GOP nominee the Dems should hope for (after Palin of course).

decency and common sense and reject his candidacy.
