1. Nice day dress, good for traveling.....
As opposed to something body fitting that would be uncomfortable while sitting in a plane.

I liked the silk overdress; don't know if it is literally something that could come off or not....
which made the outfit interesting.

3. That's a great dress--perhaps the one I like best of hers.
And no chunky belt, either! She'd do well to lose those.

It floated beautifully around her every move in an obviously windy spot.

8. Teal must be "the" color this season. Alot of teal at the
Emmy's, too.

9. Yes, let's focus on the color of the dress...
the first lady is wearing, because god knows, that is more important than the public option in healthcare. Seriously, don't they have a separate forum for people that just have a crush on political folks based on how they look? This kind of things makes me want to give up on politics altogether. Harkens back to the days when the media said we shouldn't vote for Gore because he changed to wearing "earth tones" to be more appealing to voters. The sad thing is, some people actually listened.

10. There's like at least 100 threads on something other than Michelle's dress....
I suggest you fucking find them.

....and Kiss my Teal!

Oh....and you're welcome!

14. Yeah, there is a couple on how pretty she is....
And what a great hostess she is, and what great gifts she gives, too. LOL! Geez, if people would stop being so enamoured of this kind of thing we might actually be able to hold our politicians accountable.

12. So find another thread
I just "love" how someone comes into a thread when they have only 3 stinking posts and tells us what's important and what isn't! :eyes:

15. I guess because...
... the policies these people put in place matter, whereas having a crush on them doesn't.

16. Most people are able to think about more than one thing at a time. Try it some time. And Mrs. Obama
doesn't put policies in place. Keep up.

17. Maybe the mods could start a Michelle fan club forum
... that way the political discussion forum could contain (gasp!) political discussion. This forum is literally littered with this kind of thing.

But the main reason for my comment is people that start these myriad of fawning threads are the same Democrats we can't count on to hold our representatives accountable. As long as their heros smile pretty and look good, their main concern is how much, on a scale of 1 to 10 they will be groveling toward them despite poor policies, like a health care reform bill without a public option being acceptable, lobbyists working throughout the administration, huge government giveaways to banks and insurance companies, charter schools which use your tax dollars to fund private education, war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and on and on and on.

It's really quite sad.

18. Maye THE FIRST DAY someone signs up on a discussion board, they should refrain
from critiquing so harshly A SINGLE THREAD and try to get the lay of the land first. Just my opinion.

21. This board and this thread is the exact opposite of
the corporatemediaWhores fucking up the atmosphere because Al Gore was advised to wear Earth Tones(how appropriate because he's helping to save the Planet).

We get to talk about Michelle Obama in the GDP thread bc she's really close to the PO and she's earning her right to wear a stunning Teal Dress and have it discussed by the Admin's supporters.

The big clue here is turn off the fucking "media".

Oh, and buck up.

23. LOL -- I turned off the info-tainment media
..... a long time ago. Sure you "get to" fawn all over a teal dress instead of being serious about public policy and holding Obama accountable. But it's still not a good idea. Sorry, I just can't picture the people drooling over them like rock stars ALSO going "Hey WTF is up with this pro-corporate whore policies for health insurance companies and wall street exec? Hey, WTF is up with allowing your pay czar to declare the govt won't regulate the pay of execs at bailed out banks? Hey, WTF is up with more troops in Afganistan and streching the timeline you promised about getting out of Iraq."

Less fawning, more holding accountable. That's what we need.

26. Unfortunately, hiding the thread....
doesn't "hide" the problem of people fawning over politicians and their family instead of holding them accountable. And since she isn't a politician why is she being discussed in a political forum?

Don't like my comments? Ignore me. So right back atcha! :)

28. I have to be honest ... I did not like that dress or the G20 "dinner" dress
I'm sorry, but they were a little too filmy and summery and glittery for my tastes. And spaghetti straps for the dinner? Too much skin.

I love Michelle, but I'm not loving all her outfits. Go back to Maria Pinto, Michelle! Ikram Goldman is leading you astray.
