"I hate Jimmy Carter. And not only that, but I hate his wife and his freakish daughter, too. All things Carter repulse me. I realize hate is a strong word that should not be used lightly. But after careful consideration Ive come to the conclusion that it is the only honest assessment I can make about the man. Like many Americans, particularly we Southerners, Ive tried to convince myself that while his utter failure as president is without question, Jimmy Carter is a good and decent man who found his true calling as an elder statesman. In part because he is a Southerner, and in part because he is a seemingly devout Christian, many of us have tried to rationalize, compartmentalize if you will, our feelings about Jimmy Carter: President Carter, bad. Ex-president Carter, good and decent. No more. Ive had all I can stand of this pompous a------ and I will never again qualify my hatred for him. The fact of the matter is, I find him indecent and the complete opposite of a statesman. A statesman is one who shows wisdom, skill, and vision when dealing with public issues. Clearly Jimmy Carter is no statesman.

Liberals always chide conservatives about being morally superior, but I can think of no couple that fancies themselves the moral superiors of the rest of us more than Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. I have noticed this for years. Whenever I see the Carters interact with other first families like at an inauguration or national day of mourning their condescension cannot be disguised. Rosalynn appears to be in a continual, lifelong nervous breakdown. This poor woman makes Kitty Dukakis look sane, yet she finds the strength to look down on the scoundrels that surround her at every turn. These two are arrogant and sanctimonious and I have grown weary of their moral superiority show. I dont know what makes them think they are better than the rest of us. I guess its because they have plenty of free time to build crappy looking row houses in neighborhoods whose residents would rather not to see their property values plummet. So excuse me if I dont get all misty eyed about the house-raising, failed ex-president from Plains when he imparts words of wisdom.

Frankly, I think he needs to spend a little less time telling the rest of us how to behave, think, and feel, and a little more time lusting in his heart. For the only thing that Jimmy Carter hasnt failed at is sucking. When it comes to sucking, Jimmy Carter has no equal." (from http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/09/15/carter_c... )

"crappy looking row houses in neighborhoods whose residents would rather not to see their property values plummet."

rescuedbychrist:I would have loved for Michael Steele be the first black president. He is awesome!

ron4jesus:Alan Keyes is another intelligent black man.

(as if black people are mostly unintelligent)

comeuphere :Dear Jimmy,

I don't dislike Obama because of his race anymore than I like you because of yours. Character, morals, duty, honor, meekness, a heart for God Almighty and a genuine love and respect for those you serve are just some of the attributes that help to mold a man or woman into someone who assumes the duty of a high office in any country and is responsible and accountable to the citizens of that country. I see, in both you and Mr. Obama, arrogance, greed, a lack of respect, and a kissing up to those who would want to destroy America as complete treason against Americans. I respectfully wish you would just shut your mouth. Your hot air may help Al Gore's case for global warming but that's about it...

one4god:I think it is very important for all of us to realize just how dangerous and serious it is that the liberals and the O administration have pulled the "race card". I have just forced myself to watch MSM (MSNBC), and I saw good ole' Jimmy interviewed.
This has the potential of being the pivotal moment in US history. Racism polarizes people more than any other topic. For myself, I am absolutely furious to be put in this category, as I AM NOT REMOTELY RACIST.
The MSNBC program went on to discuss how Glenn Beck had falsely elevated the number of people by 75 times. They claim that only 75,000 people, all racists hiding under the guise of healthcare, were there. They went on to say that a Spongebob-Squarepants rally would draw more people.
I believe they are trying to demoralize those of us who are disturbed to see what is happening in this country. Who wants to bear the seal of a racist?
At best, this may work to force more of our non-caucasion sisters and brothers to come forward. At worst, it could very well sow the seeds of civil unrest and military state, or even civil war.
May God have mercy on us all.

On top of everything, Obama is only 7% black. Seven percent!!!!!!
How can he claim to be the first black president??????
He is 50 percent caucasion, 43% arabic, and only 7% black.

peaceseeker: Rush Limbaugh called Jimmy Carter the National Hemorroid on air today! So there, take that peanut man.

ivote4jesus:I am ashamed that Jimmy Carter is from my home state of Georgia. All he is doing is trying to stir up trouble. The man who stood up and yelled "You LIE" is not racist. He is FED UP!! Just like the rest of the country. How can Jimmy Carter say this man is a racist for that comment but he can denounce Israel in his every waking moment and he doesn't see that he is an anti-semite. He HATES Jews and Israel and Carter is supposed to be a Christian. Shame on you Jimmy Carter. We have every right to disagree with the President. I disagreed with Bush on some things too. Just because the President happens to be black doesn't mean we all of a sudden have to agree with everything he says and does. Alot of blacks disagreed with Bush and do you think thay were called racists? No way! It's a double standard. To disagree with the President has nothing to do with race it is about issues and policies that we do not agree with. We that are saved are brothers and sisters in Christ not black and white. Jimmy Carter should spend more time trying to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ instead of trying to divide our nation with such ridiculous and unintelligent statements.

peaceseeker:Yeah, me too. I'm in Georgia. Carter used to teach Sunday School in a Southern Baptist Church in Plains, GA...that is before he left the denomination because it was too conservative and stuck strictly to biblical principles. What a sham he is!

Glory_in_print: Jimmy Carter has no room to even speak on who is a racist or not he is a well known anti - semite, who sides with muslim terrorist organizations against the Jews, and he even has received millions of dollars from wealthy muslims who have ties to terrorist groups.

5. The notion...
that Obama is mostly or wholly Arab, and not black, on his father's side is a right-wing trope that serves to furnish a counter, however absurd, to accusations of anti-black racism when attacking Obama. It has a loose basis in the frequent claims, accurate or spurious, of Arab ancestry among the more powerful Muslim blacks in Africa, who often self-identify as Arab and not black. For non-Arab Muslims of the ruling class to claim Arab ethnicity is pretty common in the non-Arab Muslim world, as Islam largely privileges Arab over non-Arab, despite the Koran's claim of equality among believers. It is also a nasty trope, because it presumes that it's just fine to hate Arabs.

2. Why take up so much DU space with all these anti Carter diatribes?
Seems kind of out of place here. I'm not sure if
this poster likes Jimmy or not.

9. What ?
Carter's my favorite president , I just want to share my concerns on the opposition. My negativity is due to the opposition not to any negative feelings I have about him. Or is negativity really against the rules here ? I'll be more positive if that's the case.
