I didn't think it was possible. I've never seen the guy even raise his voice slightly before. He's the most laid back person ever. lol. Bravo Kanye, you did something that nobody thought could be done. You put some drama into Obama.

2. Obama-drama!
A new catch phrase!

I'm sure he has his breaking point...

It's just set a lot higher than for most of us...

And a good thing, too...

I don't want to hear him lose his temper...

3. I suspect in private, behind the scenes, he says a lot of things
you & I will never see or hear. The only other time we've ever seen him show displeasure was that time when Biden was making fun of Justice Roberts. This time & then, his displeasure was because of someone being nasty to another person. He really believes people should always be civil to each other.

4. Off-the-record
For all you know, Obama sits around calling House Republicans cracker-ass-crackers and refers to John McCain as "that pasty-ass muhfucker." The whole point is that this was an off-the-record comment. Obama is disciplined on record, but neither you nor many others knows jack shit about what Obama says off-the-record.

5. It could have something to do with
the fact that Obama is dad to two girls. Taylor Swift is only 19 years old, and Obama's protectiveness just naturally kicked in.

9. Excellent Point.
I had not considered "the father figure role" within Obama but it makes perfect sense. ;)

6. What makes you think he was mad? Jackass and anger do not necessarily go together, it could
have simply been an eyeroll comment.

so dumb.

7. But I don't see that as dramatic. I mean everyone knows Kanye is a jerk.
Edited on Tue Sep-15-09 03:46 AM by vaberella
His real claim to fame as been the statement about Bush which was right. His statement here----I don't think Beyonce's video was the best all time---but it was good. Doing that to a kid on her first award is a bit cruel and out of order---but tha is total Kanye.

An addition....I couldn't help but laugh but seriously----that's Kanye.

15. What's so great about Beyonce's video?
It's just the same thing, over and over and over, with some clever editing. Taylor's video told a story. I think it was better as a video and should have won.

20. Did I say anything was great about Beyonce's video?
Look to say Beyonce's video is regurgitated...I could say the same about the every new blonde artist that come in the picture. I saw the Taylor Swift video it looks like Avril Lavigne's video for Girlfriend that was merged with the Hilary Duff film A Cinderella Story. Are you picking up on the trend in the names I dropped. It's all the same CRAP!!! End of story. The point is, that neither video was fantastic or anything. These people at the VMA are like idiots at the Academy---just giving out awards based on popularity over one thing or another---nothing else. In the end it's pointless. Kanye is the same thing. This is NOT new for him and it won't be the last time he'd do something like this. He's a known jerk in hip hop and hence the reason I don't get why this is getting so much news.

It would be like Obama calling Jim Jones a "fucking piece of shit asshole."

I can spot jackass behavior all the time without getting upset. Sometimes it's amusing.

23. Exactly
I listened to the audio, someone asked him "why would he do that?" he replied "he's a jackass", it really wasn't anything more than a really informal conversation.

24. I can discuss the fact that Kanye is a jackass w/ my republiCon
family. I cannot discuss the fact that Joe Wilson is a jackass with them.

There are some subjects that are safer to get mad about in public than others.

25. I agree with the Pres about kenye being a jackass but..
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 05:10 PM by butterfly77
I notice that a lot of people especially repubs were in a uproar when he told the truth about the police officer who acted stupidly. I notice some became excited about this as though they thought that he could or would not ever say anything against someone black. In the case of the police officer the he did act stupidly whether he was black or white just like kenye.

I saw this country singer on Insannity last night and he seemed to want to make it a racial thing between kenye and country singers, and this if they keep on talking about it will turn into some more rightwing nonsense. I notice that they are now wanting the Pres to make another speech about race as though this will change minds. These people are determined to put Pres.

Obama into racial situations so that they can begin the stupid talk about how he is doing something for blacks more than for others. If you really, really, listen to the rightwing fruitcakes they look at every issue through the lens of race. THey really don't want blacks to receive any kind of assistance in any area.

These people say that blacks need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and work which many, many, many do but, they don't want anything that will help blacks to be self sufficient they put up roadblocks all along the way. They want free labor by filling up jails, they want to don't even want to pay minimum wage.Repubs will bring people from other countries and hire and train them but don't want the same for blacks but then complain when they commit crimes as though they are the only ones, they are only targeted more. They are a bunch of damn lying, ass hypocrites.
