you might say, let's wait to see what Obama says, let's wait for this, let's wait for that.

Well, Woolsey, Grijalva and Waters aren't waiting. They're facing the reality that what they see as meaningful reform will be compromised away, and they're speaking out, even making threats.

I do understand when people say we need to support Obama. I agree, we do need to support our democratic president.

But isn't that true of our progressive leaders as well? Don't they need support as well?

1. The only real prick in that group is Baucus and the conservadems like him.
And probably Reid for his horrible leadership.

5. Baucus is in opposition. Obama is the negotiator...trying to bring the two bills together.
I want a public option too. We shall see. Obama has never been an opponent of the public option, it was HIS campaign idea to begin with. And Pelosi has never opposed it either.

10. yeah, it's easy to be against Baucus
but not so easy to be against Obama.

That's what I mean by the progressive caucus has their work cut out for them. Obama can do whatever he wants and progressive voters will cut him slack.

2. What, in a no-rules cage match, or...???
Don't underestimate Grivalva and Woolsey in a tag-team.

And when Maxine is angry there's really nowhere to run.

:P

4. Obama is NOT against Woolsey, Grijalva, or Waters. If they WIN, he won't veto their ideas.
I don't know where you are getting that notion from.

6. Obama is trying to get something through the Senate
where there are 10 Democrats that are basically Republicans. Its not easy. Thats why he won't demand a public option

13. Yeah. She is strongly on our side on this matter
I've been quite impressed. I think all this talk about blue dogs is misplaced because they are only in the House, and Pelosi et. al. keep saying there *needs* to be a public option to pass the House. We've got it under control there. The real roadblock is in the Senate, and there are no "blue dogs" there, just conservative Democrats and questionable peeps like Sen. Baucus.
