Time: Can One Facebook Status Change the World?
Can One Facebook Status Change The World?

Posted by MICHAEL SCHERER
Thursday, September 3, 2009

If you are not familiar with this phrase, you probably have not been checking your Facebook and Twitter accounts today.

No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, join us in posting this as your status for the rest of the day.

Call it a victory for electronic chain activism. (Even Zach Braff is on board.) But where did it all come from?

more here...

UPDATE: Via Jonathan Singer at MyDD, those who want to watch the activism virus spread can go here.

2. I logged in and changed mine as soon as I got home from work.
I noticed that my minister, her daughter, and quite a few friends had it as their status also.

Kind of like a tweet

10. I have it as my FB status, too, but modified:
I believe that no one should die because they cannot afford health care, and nobody should go broke because they get sick. I also believe that no one should die. Except for certain people.

9. So I am the admin of another message board.....
.... I mean like it's MY message board, everyone who posts there refers to is as "Clio's board." But I dont act like an oligarch, the majority of the people who post there are Republicans .... pretty hard core at that. So out of respect to them, I dont talk about "that man I'm not supposed to talk about" in the non-politics parts of the board. It's a bit of a running joke.

But I think I'm gonna make this my sig line .... I mean, they cant argue with that right? .... They're all good "Christian" folks lol .... how can they argue with that?
