From Kennedy's letter to the Pope (updated)
Edited on Sat Aug-29-09 08:32 PM by ProSense
At the graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery for Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, archbishop emeritus of Washington, D.C. and a family friend, read portions of the letter that President Obama delivered on Kennedy's behalf to the pope last month and portions of the pope's reply.

Kennedy's letter:

<...>

I also want you to know that even though I am ill, I am committed to do everything that I can to achieve access to healthcare for everyone in my country. This has been the political cause of my life.
Full letter and response

If only 'pukes, with all their values, sanctimony, reichousness et al, would get on board, what a wonderful world the land of the free and home of the brave could be. :D

4. Yeah, But Why Didn't POPE Write His Own Reply
I take it as a possible swipe at Kennedy for his support of a woman's right to choose abortion.

Unless, this is protocol for le Pope, .It just seems weird to me that he used a surrogate to write a letter to a dying US Catholic Senator????
