8. He is doing better than I expected

considering the fucked-up mess he inherited. Six months ago I would have bet big money he would not get a good health care bill. I believe the tide is changing and he is going to pull this off. Keep the faith.

Real change never happens fast.

The way things look now, there might be things happening that will be part of real change eventually. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Most days.

But it's still too soon to tell.

Big, flashy crap implemented quickly and ballyhooed loudly doesn't impress me; it's almost always smoke and mirrors.

Might take three, maybe four years to know if some of the not-too-impressive looking small items are going to have that snowball effect, or turn out to be the key that unlocks a cascade of other stuff.

We shall see.
